Ted...MSNBC...the cable channel has made itself into the most partisan cable channel there is, as your poll shows! David Shuster, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olberman. No co host on any of those shows to even out opinion. Much more partisan than Fox.

Hollies, I don't disagree with your statement, except for the last sentence.

As you might gather I prefer to be classified as a Centrist with a leaning to the right in fiscal matters and to the left on social issues.

George Bush has ruined the reputation of the Republican party for Main St. Americans and the perception of the USA by the world-at-large. John McCain will, unfortunately, suffer the consequences.

To put this in perspective and to refute your 'outing' charge, I have only voted for one Democrat in the past 36 years (it was a local candidate).

I am not over the moon with either candidate. The choice is Democrat BS or Republican BS. We've had 8 years of Republican BS. I believe Americans will buy the other BS in Nov.

A very perceptive and accurate summary of what's most likely going to happen this election, IMO.........

If McCain said "My Friends" one more time, I was gonna scream!

I look at it this way, if he cant run his campaign at the same time he has to go to Washington to "fix" the bailout, then he obviously cant handle doing to things at one time. Is that the kind of leader we need. "Oh sorry, can't handle that problem right now, UI goota do this instead". He makes himself out to be so self-important he makes me sick!

As far as Palin goes, in her debate she kept saying "I'd rather talk about this, right now" Why?, because she obviously wasnt prepared to answer those questions, because she wasnt prepped what to say. So, who's the puppet here in all of this?...

Ted, While FOX has mostly right-leaning hosts, they almost always bring on reps from both sides of an issue to debate and give the viewer a chance to think for him/herself. MSNBC occasionally brings on Pat Buchanan as a guest so Maddow and Olbermann can smirk, laugh and blow off the conservative opinions of the old coot. FOX is not totally fair and balanced, but they are way ahead in the journalism integrity race vs. the "Obama for President at any cost and by any means" network, MSNBC.

Even Sean Hannity has more integrity than Olbermann, barely.

And some of those blonde bimbos on FOX, they don't demean, scoff, scold, and act like the other side is stupid and evil, like Maddow does.

Some of those blondes are Democrats.

Olbermann and Maddow need to be physically beaten, tar and feathered for what they are doing to journalism and cable news. (OK, a few less feathers for Maddow because she will entertain an opposing view on her show now and then)

youre kidding, right? these guys are arriving hopelessly late to the same journalistic integrity party that right-wing loons have been throwing for 15-20 years, just in time to clean up the dishes & beer bottles

Obama is a slick-willie tho', ain't he? must be driving fans of the incoherent garble-speak Bush & Palins of the world nuts

Oh he's slick alright. He has NO idea what he's going to do but acts like he's right in control. I can't trust anyone like that. He's trying to sidestep the fact that he took so much money from Fannie and Freddie. All he'll say is "There's enough blame to go around." Such a snake he can't even own up to his own actions!

THAT'S why he'll never get my vote.

O is slick by way of intelligence, tho', not by deceit (like our outgoing president). if you think he has NO idea of what he's going to do, you haven't been paying attention or looked into it. it's a ludicrous notion to assume one gets to this point by having no idea of what they want to do

O does need to follow McCain's lead on earmarks tho. & as for Fannie Mae, here's your facts: O has taken in about $110k, & McC has taken in $16k from Fannie & Freddie employees in the last 3 years. this is a tiny sliver of the over $4mil that have been donated to many other candidates during the same period

hardly enough to cast such a broad 'snake in the grass' sweep over this candidate, no matter which side he's on

& just to show my sense of reason & love for my Raspberries colleagues, i'm w/ you on ross perot, but he got railroaded by the corrupt & anti-democratic 2-party system, w/ some help from the media in the same 2-party pockets

hollies - your mantra = "obama is a puppet"

now, we know The Shrub, proven commodity & towering intellect that he is, was & is puppeteered by Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, & Corporate America, etc etc etc

O's intellect is prob about 5x that of Bush's, & this type of candidate/person is by nature & design much less prone to be dangled on others' strings & agendas

so lay out your conspiracy theory for me here, but check your paranoia at the door - who, in your mind, is puppeteering Obama? i can't wait for this one..

My guess is the "One-World-Order-Socialist-Knock-America-Down-From-Superpower-Status-Created-From-Capitalism-So-They-Will-Fall-In-Line-With-The-Rest-Of-The-Euro-Socialist-Crowd", while China, Russia, and the Middle East do whatever the hell they want.

George Soros and his buddies are so happy right now they are having giggle fits.

Obama's intelligence and intellect aren't an issue, or even in question. However, I believe his character and sincerity certainly might be, and the American public's basic lack of knowledge about him and what he really stands for is as well!

He's been proclaiming since Day 1 that he's a new type of politician, one who'll refuse to play the old games, campaign in a negative manner, etc.

Yet, look at some of his past, at least that part of it which has actually come to light.....He came up through the old Chicago political machine, always thought of as one of the crookedest around. His associations with Ayers, Rozeko and Rev. Wright STILL haven't been explained to a lot of peoples' satisfaction yet...and everytime someone brings them up, they're accused of dirty campaigning.

At the very least, even if Barack now disavows any and all connection to these guys, he has certainly used them in the past and to his advantage at the time....and only saw fit to distance himself once he decided he wanted to be President. Maybe it isn't as strong as guilt by association, but it certainly might reflect on his character to some! And I say "might" because of one basic reason.....the fact that nobody but nobody in the media has apparently even attempted to dig too deeply into this guy's past!

There's little one can deduce from his community organizer days or his law professor days...and even his Senatorial 4 years, since he's actually shown up for so few debates, committee meetings and votes. I basically distrust people who are hired for a job (or elected, as in the case of a Senator or President), and spend seemingly all of their time trying to get promoted to a higher level at the expense of performing what they were hired to do!....which is exactly what BO has done during his time in the Senate.

Additionally, his changing his mind early on, regarding the issues of accepting public financing for his campaign (deciding the system is "broken" when it appears he can raise a Hell of a lot more money on his own!), and whether delegates from Florida and Michigan should be counted (his stand was "no" when it looked like Hillary would benefit....once he wrapped up the nomination, then he decided they should be fully counted...) smacked of nothing but political opportunism...AND old-style, smoke-filled room politics as well! Ditto, the fact that he's been acknowledged by several sources as the most liberal Senator in the country, to the point of being accused of being a socialist, yet suddenly, he's become a centrist/moderate/middle-of-the-roader who really understands the working class, whom I suspect he really despises.....

And no, I'm not some Republican who's drunk the kool-aid regarding McCain (who's had enough of his own past problems) and Palin (who, as in the case of Obama, we simply don't know enough about her). I've voted for the past 5 Democratic candidates for President, and I've been really, really trying to warm up to Obama, as personally, voting from McCain/Palin isn't an option I want to consider if possible....but I simply don't know enough about this guy to trust him enough to vote for him yet! As I've stated before, the fact that he's highly skilled as an orator, and especially at raising money, doesn't necessarily make him Presidential material.

He also strikes me as the kind of guy who would step in a bucket of sh*t and find a gold nugget stuck to his shoe when he pulls it out....and then tell everyone he knew it was there all along! The Wall Street fiasco will most likely win the election for him....unless, God forbid, an attack on this country the magnitude of 9/11/01 should occur...which would then favor McCain....

Johno, i'm not gonna, but i, & almost anyone, could take issue w/ & contrast every one of these 'facts' about Obama, esp starting w/ his supposed coming up thru the Daley school of Chicago politics

i'm sorry, but all these points sound like reiterations blipped from the sensationalist-craving, sound-bite swallowing, nanosecond attention span of the average american voter

again, no offense, & i'm not saying that describes you, but i am saying this laundry list of 'shortcomings' & 'suspicions' reeks of gossipy versions of actual facts

on another note, some truth & justice amazingly (given the environs & power-plays) came out of the Palin troopergate scandal today
