Tony Cartmill
Only RBW drifts into the moron comment area now and then, usually on purpose just to get our "neo-con" panties in a bunch...He's like one of those Monty Python employees in the "Argument Clinic" sketch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teMlv3ripSM&feature=related
angelina
Since early voting opened up here in Collier County (Naples, FL) on 10/20/08 there has been a one hour wait to vote each day. Turnout looks pretty strong in this battleground state and very red county. Any word elsewhere throughout the fruited plain? I reckon things are going to get much closer than the polls indicate.John
austinberries
early voting is steady/heavy here in TX, but we are solidly red until the sun goes down, even tho' we had to live w/ Gov Bush for 4 years before y'all's 8 yrs w/ him. i swear they'd vote him in again here if they could (well, maybe not). how's Jeb, the sonofabitch vote-rigger, btw? oops, i forgot, no name callin' ;-)
angelina
Don't you call Barbara Bush a Biotch...them thars fightin' words you longhorn. It's funny though, I have a few friends in TX, one was even an elected judge....and they're all Dems. Go figure.I imagine an awesome town like Austin (with 50,000 college students) would lean way left. Naples hobbles to the right.John
hollies65
Our voting in the Buckeye state is totally rigged with the Secratary of State and ACORN in bed together.Pathetic.

raspberrywine
Ted love your self righteousness. Glad youre " above the fray" and had to let us know as much. Yes, heated debate and discussion is certainly an afront to all. The fact is, theres been baiting and attacking in this discussion but theres also been humor and acquienscence too and some pretty good points made on both sides. In fact, I personally respect Tony and Hollies right to vote for whomever they please. It's that time of the season I am afraid. I happen to think false Conservatism, and its policies and various manifestations, is to blame for the State of the country presently. I suppose this opinion makes me a moron, at least in the viewpoints and philosophies of the majority of posters. So be it, let's all deeply hope the country turns around regardless of who wins. (Definitely my last post on this thread).

I suppose this opinion makes me a moron,... (Definitely my last post on this thread). I mostly agree! BECAUSE FALSE CONSERVATISM IS LIKE TRUE LIBERALISM WHEN YOU EXPAND THE GUB-MENT, HAVE NO FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY, DON'T IDENTIFY OR PUNISH THE TRUE CRIMINALS ON BOTH SIDES THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEMS...The only difference seems to be False Conservatives spend/waste more on Defense/Security and cut taxes, True Liberals spend/waste more on domestic social engineering, Gub-ment control and raise taxes.I don't see either of the above models helping to solve the current world crisis. austinberries
If this happened to a critic of McCain it would be the lead story on every mainstream media's newscast..... http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/10/24/joe.html?sid=101 h-bomb, u r truly the broken record on the "if this were someone in McCain's camp..." foul cry of media favoritism, & it always hits home like this: "if its not what i want to see reported & doesnt show my preferred party/candidate in favorable light, then it's unfair". why do repubs get so mad when they can't control the media? (which they do plenty frequently enough). that would be like a half-step removed from Chinese/Russian-style state-controlled media if they got their way about what they want & are always complaining about, as is being done here
hollies65
Yeah, yeah. Hmmm I see Obama thinks it's the Supreme Court's job to redistribute wealth. My oh my.Oh yeah...which party wants the Fairness doctrine reinstated? Think about that before you post this "Socialist" [Hahaha!] media stuff. It makes you look a bit silly A-bomb. I mean really... who wants to control the media?
austinberries
so then stop throwing fits every time a story in the media doesnt go your way, h-bomb. i hear this every day from republicans being interviewed, & it makes them look like either they wont be satisfied until they can control all the major media markets like they do (or did in their heyday) much of talk radio, or like they're just real sore losers. if this is just a silly myth, then stop perpetuating it & stop crying foul on the media every time they file a report that doesn't slant your preferred way, y'see?take it from mickey dolenz... & so what else is cookin' around here?.. & where is tony's backing 2-part harmony for ya here? i prefer jugglin' the both of y'all when i drop in.. hollies65
Chris, with all due respect, the exchange of opinion and thought on politics is hardly the worst thing in the world...I like and respect Austinberries despite his misguided political leanings.Really, if reading our exchanges disturbs you to the point of wanting the politically vocal to be silenced here...avoid this thread. austinberries
chris - i'm gonna land on hollies side of the fence like i do every once in a while here. i don't think that any of us on a politix blog where there's healthy dialogue & spirited jabs, etc expect it to "go anywhere" or be moving each other across lines. i think some of us enjoy "scuffing it up," as i've called it previously, & i even appreciate the substance of the arguments, whether i agree or not w/ the other side. so i'd say jump on in, or jump on out, & we may carry on or not, who knows? or we may move on, but its easy enuff for you to avoid the thread once you lose interest, right?& i only dish big to hollies b/c i know he can take it, is always up for more, & i know he likes to dish big himself
Tony Cartmill
Austin, What do you think of the Obama camp banning 2 TV stations in the last couple of days because their interviews with Biden were too tough?"If I don't like your questions, I'm taking my socialist ball and going home...till we get elected...then the truth will rear it's ugly head...but for you, it will be too late!"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
