marvin
These comics (two radio personalities from Quebec) have pulled similar pranks on many, many other celebrities. Sarah is not alone in being fooled.
austinberries
no doubt, but Palin is the only candidate ever for Vice President of the United States who could've been so snowed & clueless. it's been a long time since i've heard a politician say so much w/out saying anything, as she does here, & any other time she speaks on issues about which she is supposed to actually be informed. amazing, truly stunning, & only in America could someone of her intellectual capacity & caliber find herself in this position. of course, The Shrub pulled it off two times in a row! Still not changing my mind. These guys could use a nice baseball bat to the head though - That would be a fun way to "punk" them. She'll have 4 years under McCain's leadership to brush up on things before she runs against Hillary and Jesse The Body in '12! Tim

missy
Considering all her accomplishments I wish I could be as much of an "airhead" as she is. As far as those radio comedians go I rate them up there with the folks who write for the Enquirer and the like, sleezeballs. I find Sara Palin refreshingly human I guess that's what intimidates people so much. :p
darlene
Those two guys are the "airheads," in my opinion. What a childish, asenine and immature thing to do, to waste the time of someone as accomplished as Sarah Palin with this garbage. In my opinion, she suspected somewhat, because she giggled at some of the stupid "red flags" the caller raised, but, because it *could* have been Sarkozy, she had no choice but to play along. She was friendly and gracious, but I do believe she suspected because she laughed nervously at some of the stupid comments. I thought she steered the conversation very quickly and smoothly away from the stupidity each time, which shows she can think on her feet.Barack, when he's not reading from a teleprompter, just sits back and says "uh, uh, uh." That's the difference between the two of them. But these slimeballs would never have called Sen. Obama because they would have been upbraided. And like the rest of the biased media, they're also under his spell. Which only goes to show how naive they are. --D
austinberries
I find Sara Palin refreshingly human I guess that's what intimidates people so much. umm, sarah palin may be a number of things, but she is not intimidating. i'm glad she has accomplished what she set out to do (ie: gov of alaska), but she continues to be very unimpressive to many if not most americans, whom she strikes as having ridden a transparent facade as far as that will take her - kinda like a beauty queen. oh wait, she was a beauty queen.. marvin
Let me reiterate that these radio comedians have pulled pranks on many other people, some of them much more notable / famous that Sarah. Sarah fans need not feel like their hero is being singled out.p.s. There were a lot of jokes in there that I would guess some non-Francophone / Canadians might have missed. 1. ...killing baby seals2. "John Hallyday" being the adviser to the French president. Hallyday is a French pop star.3. An erroneous name for the the Prime Minister of Canada3. Mentioning the "Prime Minister of Quebec." Quebec has a premier, not a Prime Minister....and many, many more.
James
The prank was dirty. As it would be if done to Obama or Biden. As it was dirty when Sean Hannidy played Alec Baldwin's failed radio audition over the air a couple years ago. And it's dirty to refer to Sarah Palin as an "airhead", and the president as "shrub". It's dirty how the Illinois Democrat party is throwing it's own (our Democrat governor) under the bus in its TV ads.I badly hope McCain wins. The stakes are high and I think he still can. But if not we better all get behind Obama and give him a chance. Work against him in 2012, but support him as our president.Don't do to him what they've done to Bush. marvin
The prank was dirty. As it would be if done to Obama or Biden. I don't find the prank to be "dirty", but generally speaking it does re-inforce how little people within the U.S. know about Canada and in this case, France. austinberries
And it's dirty to refer to Sarah Palin as an "airhead", and the president as "shrub". i'm not even gonna argue the 'airhead' moniker, but 'shrub' is a bit friendlier: bush sr. = 'the bush'; bush jr. = 'the shrub' - get it? ;-)
austinberries
besides, we had him in texas for 4 yrs b4 y'all got him, & he's ours, & he's coming back, so we retain the right to label bush by any number of monikers. raspberrywine
Marv the only thing most conservatives know is that they hate France because France had the unmitigated gall to question the war with Iraq as it was building. As for French history, French literature, French art and archctecture, French philosophy, French food even, they have no interest. The U.S. has certainly done much to support France including our very important contribution during the second world war in liberating France with the Canadians and British. But this attitude that somehow France should not express its opinion today, even as a member of the UN Security council, as a result of the past is both naive and ethnocentric. We need to do our best to recognize who our allies truly are because we have been squandering them the past 8 years. Its a different world. Saudi Arabia, China, and Russia could collectively cripple the US today. We are not the force we think we are on the global economic stage. Only in terms of our willingness to purchase cheap goods like crazy on our credit cards.

darlene
Hey Razzwine, that's not true. I LOVE all things French, my friend. I took four years of French in high school and still try to practice it and keep up. I adore French literature, French philosophy, French architecture and French cooking. WOW, are you ever stereotyping conservatives! My love of French things has no interest in what the French think of the Iraq war. I could care less what they think.Americans who have visited France have told me that the French hate Americans. I refuse to believe that. I think some French might, but I think assuming they all do would be stereotyping them as well. Two of my most beautiful students and most beautiful parents came from France and I taught those kids (twin girls) when they were 10 and 11 years old. They're now 40 something, and I love them and am just as proud of them now as I ever have been, and always will be.I was VERY close to their parents and was sad when they moved to California to be close to both girls. I also still adore my high school French teacher. They don't make consummate professionals like Madame Deitch anymore. --Darlene

raspberrywine
Yes that was unfair to say all conservatives felt that way Darlene. But there has been tremendous France bashing from the far right the past 8 years. Its stupid. For one, as I noted, they are a UN Security Council ally and need to remain so strategically. Not to mention all the good wine they send over here. No raspberrywine I believe.Sure, Napoleon was an overated general and megalomaniac but their history is really interesting, including 1920s Paris when so many American artists wanted to be there for so many good reasons. Hemingway and Fitzgerald wrote portions of their best novels in France. France rocks. Johnny Halliday too!People dont like the socialism aspect but I think its something to be proud of to take good care of the elderly, those who have lost their jobs, and the unfirm. The far right in France is very scary, in terms of the racism and threats of violence. Immigration is a massive issue in France. France's energy policy which welcomes nuclear energy as well as the greenest of green technologies is a wise comprehensive policy in my opinion.Ive been to France 21 times in my life. Mostly for work and also vacations. Its a pretty good place and takes seriously some of the good things American culture used to embrace.
