Peachie
Earthquake center reported a 6.0 quake approx middle of the Gulf. Last reported quake was 1954. I didn't feel it, but it was pretty much straight out in the Gulf from where I live. Reports said it was felt as far north as Gainesville. WOW! Paulie Mississippi
Yeha Peachie, I didn't feel it either. But they say there was "no damage" on land. Not bad for a once every half a century event.
Peachie
Absolutely, Paulie! What was interesting is I went to John's Pass today (at the beach) and normally NO parking available and today it was sort of like a ghost town. lol. Guess some people were expecting a tsunami or something. Just odd.
Paulie Mississippi
That's interesting because I've gone out a couple of times today and things just seem weird out. It's a bit dreary and rainy, but it's more than that. Maybe it's the weather and the fact that "summer" for the sake of vacationers, is officially over... Muzza
Hey Guys. Has there been any talk of a tsunami? A 6.0 quake is a fairly good old shake.I think I've mentioned before that we live near a major fault line so quakes are a regular part of our life. Fortunately we are inland so no effects in the seas. Are there any other board members in the area who could be affected by the quake in the gulf?Muzza
Paulie Mississippi
Thanks Muzza. No tsunami on this one, thank goodness as it would have washed us away early this morning! Ted (manoman) is down near where Gina is, I don't know if any more of us are in FL or not right now...
markypoo51
My parents live most of the time in Tarpon Springs, Florida, but are up here in New York for the summer. I'll have to see if they were affected by it. It's pretty close to Tampa. They're going to be heading home the end of this month. Thanks for the heads up Peachie. Peachie
Hey, it's all ok! No damage to the area here. Otherwise, like Paulie said, we would have all been swimming this moring. All is A-OK!!
Muzza
Peachie said "Otherwise, like Paulie said, we would have all been swimming this moring."... Peachie
lol, Muzza! Tell Kiwi hello for me!! You guys have a good night(or morning?) whatever New Zealand time is. Hmmmm, I'm wondering if the WAB bash that all of us did partake of rattled the earth? No way that good music would cause a real earthquake, BUT definitely a musical one!!lol. Muzza
It was 2.02 pm Tuesday when you post came up. Kiwi and I really hope that sometime in the future we can get to over there and join in some rocking with great EC and Rasberries music. That would be so much fun, and to meet as many people as possible from the board.Muzza
