TOMMY has already made me three trade offers and we haven't had the draft yet!

Everyone is invited to play. There is no money involved or anything, but we do ask for a committment that once you start playing, you continue throughout the season. Once we see how many we have, we can discuss how we want to do it. If we have enough, maybe we can even consider a beginners divison and a veterans division for players? That was suggested last year.

The first year, we played total stats per week, with points awarded for where you finished, 1-12. (Boo!)

The second year, we played head to head competition stats every week, and had standings based on the results. (I LOVE the head to head, but I really want a balanced schedule if at all possible to make it fair.)

I'm open to anything, but we need to get our commitments as soon as possible, so we can set up a draft day and pick players. We waited too long on hockey and it never came off, though Marv and I joined a league with his friends.

Where's LC?

Okay, invites are e-mailed. Jeff and BHPat, thanks for your gentle nudges... I'm ready to play, and to go all the way.

Pat, I wouldn't expect a landslide of new teams (in fact, I have a feeling we'll lose a couple of owners). But... I'm open to a bigger league, or even to a 2nd league. So... if any EC.comers want "in," pop me a private message and we'll get you the invite.

I may be interested if you have a vacancy

Mood, You're in if you want.... I'll send you an invitation through EC.com. You have to be registered at Yahoo to play. It's free, quick, and easy.

Anybody else wanna dig in and try to knock off defending champion BeatleJay? :-)

I saw that is was auto draft, and said to myself 'huh-what?'. Thanks for fixing that LC. I would hate to have my team picked for me. So draft day is three weeks from today? ... right?

Yep, three weeks from tonight! Be there, or be square!

I'll line up Muzza to randomly pick our draft order a few days ahead of the draft. We need to fill up the league first....

Are we still sitting at eight teams? I know there are more baseball fans here than that. Last year I didn't commit until the last minute. I have been a baseball fan my whole life, but had never played fantasy baseball. It is alot of fun, and challenging. So if you're reading this thinking 'maybe I'll play'- I would encourage you to sign up.

We might have a new owner coming on board -- not sure yet.

As for the missing owners BHPat has mentioned: Tunes will be in, anxious to get his title back (right, Tunes?). Lew will be in; he traditionally signs up at the last second (but don't make us wait that long this year, Lew!). I'm pretty sure Harry will be back... without him, who would take all those Phillies? Not sure what PopDude, Laura, and Marv are thinking, but let us know.

As for any potential new owners who are thinking about it... BeatleJay, your note bears repeating: "I have been a baseball fan my whole life, but had never played fantasy baseball. It is alot of fun, and challenging. So if you're reading this thinking 'maybe I'll play'- I would encourage you to sign up."

I've been in a league since 1992, and I'm telling ya... It makes baseball a lot more fun. For me, it's a way of following the game. I used to read box scores in the newspaper; now I check my fantasy team, because in the process, you can absorb the "real deal."

I wish JohnO would play.... John-O! John-O! John-O! John-O!

PS: For folks who are "in": I'm going to put this up for discussion....

Last year, we had trade approval/veto fall into the commissioner's hands. I wonder if we might be ready to go back to trade review by owners? We did that two years ago: Each of us could vote to approve or veto each trade.

Things got out of control, so last year, we voted --- just barely --- to give Commissioner LC (me) final and only say on all trades. How are you guys and girls feeling about it this year? I know I squashed a few trades, and I felt bad about it, but I was just trying to do what was best for the league....
