So if I was "introduced" to John Gotti...does that automatically make me member of the mob???? Puh-leezee....Harry...go root for the Pirates or something. Canseco's a JERK...All of his steroid use definitely affected his brain and according to one of his old girlfriends...another part of his anatomy.

Regarding Canseco's latest....While it wouldn't surprise me in the least if A-Rod had/has juiced on occasion, I also understand that Canseco is still pissed at him for allegedly hitting on JC's wife years ago. What aggravates me the most about Canseco is so many people saying now he's 100% credible, due to that slanted, biased piece of crap investigation that Mitchell coordinated, supposedly vindicating him. Odds are, one could point at ANY MLB player who played during the 90s through early 00s, and probably have a 50% or better chance that the guy used some sort of enhancers! At some point, someone has to either invalidate ALL records from that era, or just move on and worry about the present and future of the game. It's like an idiot ex-boss of mine once said - "Why concentrate on solving the problem when it's so much easier and more fun to point fingers and blame somebody?"

I was just watching a television show and Bobby Knight the famous basketball coach apparently became very close friends with Ted Williams before Ted passed away. They became fishing buddies and even took a trip to Russia to catch salmon together. Knight said that Williams told him he had an opportunity to play on the 1961 New York Yankees, but turned it down out of loyalty to the Red Sox. Can you imagine a 3-4-5 of Williams, Mantle, Maris?

Ted W's last year was 1960, and, if I recall, he hit a HR his very last AB! Everyone assumed he was washed up after 1959, when he only hit about .250 or so in about 100 games, but he bounced back in '60 to hit .316 (NOTE: his 2nd lowest BA ever, in 19 seasons! '59 was his only sub-.300 year), with 29 HR and over 70 RBI in about 110 games. He could still hit big-league pitching, even at age 42!

Now, I'm not sure where the '61 Yankees would have played him, though. They used his position LF as a platoon slot for Yogi Berra, when he wasn't catching ('61 was his last decent year), Elston Howard, when he wasn't catching, and Hector Lopez. On the other hand, none of those three were any threat to win a Gold Glove in the field....although Ted wasn't either!
