MSNBC: It's time...

At least Fox has guests/pundits from both sides to debate the issue, even if the majority of hosts do lean right.

These MSNBC people looked so pained in their faces if something good happened at the RNC, and started scrambling around, checking the "facts" to see if every word in that speech was truthful...

At the DNC, every speech was "A Home Run" and "Left No Doubt".

At the RNC, every speech was "Strange", "Militaristic" and "Mean Spirited".

It's getting so bad, it's criminal!

Andrea Mitchell looked absolutely SICK at the convention. And the last night when even more balloons came down, she said, "I've never SEEN so many balloons!!!!" I guess the DNC didn't buy as many balloons at the huge stadium. Fittingly, the balloons came down and hit Andrea Mitchell on the head.

The best part was when one of the leftist journalists was interviewing someone on the floor, suggesting that Sarah Palin had no qualifications for VP. When the delegate enumerated all Palin's qualifications and asked, "Besides being a community organizer and running for Pres during a very short time in the Senate, name ONE thing Barack Obama has done?", the journalist couldn't name one, cut it off and said, "Okay, thank you, sir. We'll leave it right there..."

PS Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and the rest of them all looked sick and sad while they were covering the convention. They just sort of abandoned their attack on Palin and sat around absolutely marvelling at the Palin-mania going on, asking each other, "Can this keep up?!" in so many words and saying, in a very sad, lackluster tone, "I've got to say she gave a terrific speech."

I had such fun watching them! Now Palin's approval rating is higher than Obama's AND McCain's!

Well I'm never one to court controversy on EC.Com...But I'm coming out of the closet as a Jewish person who will not follow the "Babs Streisand" limousine liberal bandwagon.

I find Obama's government policies to be nearly socialistic and certainly naive...and McCain's words at the convention about the change in him after his experience as a "POW" moved me to tears....

And most of all to me Sarah and McCain appear not to be phonies as politicians go.

That's pretty rare.-Ira.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... when I was going to Journalism school back in the mid-seventies... I saw the shift from "I want to report the facts so the people can decide." to "I want to make a difference."

Sad to say I dropped out and chose not to pursue that career... maybe I'd have been one of those who offer that small but important "fair and balanced" half of the equation...

More likely I'd have ended up working for ESPN... LOL

don't laugh paulie....where would Keith "someone please notice me" Olberman be without ESPN. Olberman's diatribe over McCain using the images of 9/11 made me want to hurl. We shouldn't show those images? Screw him...we should show those images each day at 7AM.....so we know what we are up against the next century or so.

I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE DEBATES!

Uhhh Laura...I don't understand why you brought a wiki page of Real Clear Politics to my attention...I read it almost everyday and am thoroughly familiar with it. I could have wrote that page.My post was about a study from George Mason University citing Fox News as having the least biased coverage of the Primaries, which I posted as you repeated the daily left mantra about Fox.

Realclearpolitics was created by a couple of right wing guys in Chicago. It was purchased a controlling portion (51%) by forbes.com (owned by Steve Forbes, previously a republican presidential candidate.) It uses averaging of polls, so that if one person is ahead by 5% in one poll and behind by 1% in another, it averages those two numbers, which is a questionable way to reporting poll numbers.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's getting worse:

MSNBC is dedicating 3 solid prime time hours of finding, twisting, spinning, fabricating anything they can think of that will make McCain and Palin look bad. Yet, ignoring 80% of the reports when Obama/Biden are guilty of the same or similar stuff...

Matthews 75% in the tank for Obama

Olbermann and Maddow 99% shameless.

Where is the debate? Where is the journalism?

Is it legal to have a network working so openly hard for one political party?

I agree, Hollies. There IS no difference between them. They don't like Sarah Palin's hair, make fun of her about things that don't even make sense and twist her comments and attack them.

However, they don't report Biden saying, "In 1929 when the market crashed, FDR went on television to the American people...." !

Good God, man, HERBERT HOOVER was the President and THERE WAS NO TELEVISION!!! Wake up and smell the coffeee--who in the hell did your constituents elect--an idiot?!

Another comment he made was on the stump: "Obama isn't going to take MY shotgun!" Blithering on and on about guns "Don't let them (his OWN party!) peddle this garbage to you. Obama is NOT going to take my Baretta!"

The Republicans should employ him at this rate.

He's making more points against Obama than for him. He already said Obama should have chosen Hillary!

But nobody reports all this...

CRAZY, huh?

Also, the Dems are saying they want input. Newt Gingrich gave a brilliant plan to save the economy and told them exactly what they had to do. But nobody wants to listen to HIM.

The truth is that all this Dem posturing is to cover up for the fact that in 1977 JIMMY CARTER instituted the Community Reinvestment Act that provided for banks to give RISKY loans to anyone who wanted them. Then CLINTON and JANET RENO et al expanded the damn act in 1995 and got us all into this mess. They made it CRIMINAL for banks not to give these risky loans to people who couldn't possibly pay them back. And they try to blame it on the Republicans.

The repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act had a lot to do with this mess, and that was the DEMOCRATS.

But nobody reports THAT either!

Pssst.... Notice that the few EC.com Democrats are avoiding this thread like the plague. It's a little scary.... I'm picturing y'all writing this stuff with your white, pointy hoods on, pumping your fists and letting out rousing cheers with every Obama/Biden/Clinton/Carter/Olbermann slam.... haha

PS: I'll shut up and go away now. Forget I was even here!

Hey, I'm just teasing. Didn't you see the haha graemlin? I hadn't seen this thread, and when I read it all the way through today, it struck me as funny -- the tone and intensity....

Besides, I thought we were okay to do a little teasing.... After all, I didn't get worked up when you posted that video of the bizarre tree-hugging ritual and said it was me in the video! Lighten up... It's just an election. That said, apologies if you took my last post personally....

The truth is, I agree that with the basis of this thread, which is that the media, by and large, has been getting worse and worse. The lines of "reporting" and "opinion" have been totally blurred, by both right and left wing types. I'm like Paulie -- a product of journalism school in the late 1970s/early 1980s, and I know my favorite professor is rolling in his grave!
