Ok...I'm gonna be in NYC from Nov. 4th - 13th. My best friend is joining me for a few days and we want to do sight seeing and have great dining experiences.

Please, any suggestions esp. for food, would be most welcome.

So far this is what we have for first times visits:

See Clay Aiken in Spamalot (yes, once a Claymate always a Claymate and it's our first Broadway experience)

Ellis Island

Holocaust Museum

Statue of Liberty

Bus tour of NYC

and be one of those crazy "tourists" standing outside of the TODAY show with a sign. Hey, why not, it's stupid! :rolleyes: I know I'm going to regret this! lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And on my own:
Of course dinner with Bernie! That is above everything! wink
Wendy don't forget "Ground Zero". There's obviously not much to see there but the energy in the air is intense. You can also visit the fire station directly across the street, Ten House, and pick up a t-shirt for hubby. Have a wonderful time you couldn't pick a better time of year to go. Ann psychcoolsmile
Go to a 'Lettermen Show' taping they give the tickets out for free...and it's taped in The Ed Sullivan Theatre, where the Beatles played. You'll be shocked at how small the place is!
It seats 728. Ridiculously small but a GREAT place to see a show. All of our Rock n' Roll heroes have graced the stage in that theater.
Wendy, Prepare yourself for an experience unlike no other - especially when you are in the Times Square/Mid-Manhattan tourists areas! Gosh, there is so much to do I could be there for a month and still not do everything on my want list! Sounds like you have a pretty exciting itinerary for starters, like some of the others have mentioned, Central Park and Ground Zero would be good additions. If you visit Ground Zero and weather permits, check out some of the nearby sections of the City such as Soho, Little Italy, and Chinatown. As for the food, it's hard to go wrong with nearly unlimited choices. When you are not in the heart of the tourist areas, ask some locals for their picks for whatever type of cuisine you are in the mood for. For a sweet treat, try a Frozen Hot Chocolate at one of Serendipity's locations. We MapQuested some of the locations we wanted to visit from the address of our hotel to see which ones were in walking distance. If you take a cab, prepare yourself for the "ride of your life", you may want to take Danny S.'s advice and enjoy either a cocktail, or a sedative (or both), before you place your life in their hands!!! If you are a water lover, you may want to do the boat tour around the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Nearby is Chelsea Pier and if you are a foodie like me, Chelsea Market is the home of the Food Network. I did not visit there, but if I ever go back, I want to take a tour of the Food Network and definitely visit Chelsea Market! I've heard there are some really good restaurants in an area called "the meat-packing district" (I know that doesn't sound too appetizing!). And what girl's trip to the Big Apple would be complete without a shopping excursion to Macy's? It's like a multi-level little city of it's own! Hey, and don't feel silly, I was one of those tourists who made a sign for GMA, (we called ahead and got tickets for a taping of the broadcast), and they actually showed mine and read it on the show that day (my 15 seconds of stardom)! Anyway, have a great time - you won't be bored, that's for sure. You may even catch a glimpse of the "Naked Cowboy" performing in Times Square, we did!! Hope this helps! cool
