Paulie Mississippi
According to a report just out, the AP has tallied the delegates for each candidate and claims that Barak Obama has more than he needs to clinch the Democratic Party nomination. This is not shocking news... in fact, it was reported today that Bill Clinton remarked at a campaign stop last night that it might be the last campaign stop he ever makes... and word is today Hillary has told friends in the Senate that she would not be against being on the ticket as the Vice Presidential candidate...Now... I'm gonna start my campaign here... and now...Over the course of the last few decades we have allowed the congress... the senate... basically the two Parties/Powers steal from us our right to choose the people we think can do the best job. The media has been a part of this by shoving the propaganda of Left/Right and Republican/Democrat this, that, or the other down our throats. We have allowed the greatest nation in the world to slip almost over the edge of a precipice from which there would be no way back.We have allowed the parties to blur to the point that the Republican candidate is more concerned with appeasing Democrat voters than his own party. And the Democrat candidates calling for change are blowing up our skirts...they don't want change, they want a continuation of their stranglehold on America. We are told that if we do not vote for either of the two "scarily similar" candidates then we are wasting our vote. I say that is a lie. They say that if we do not vote, we have no right to complain. Well, I have voted in every God-forsaken nation election since I was old enough to... and in most of the local ones too.. and by God I'm sick of being told that if I don't toe the "party" line I'm somehow un-American.Before the country as we know it is gone... along with the rights and freedoms we hold so dear... I propose that any who are not 100% convinced that Obama or McCain are the best choices for the job... do not vote for them... Even if you don't agree with the Libertarian or the Green party, we need to strengthen a third option, if for no other reason than to show the "big two" that we will not settle for the same crap every four years!I know the government... those in power... will do all they can to hold that power in reserve for themselves. Hell, I'll probably be targeted for something because I dare post this "call to arms" if you will... Several years ago Ross Perot's "Reform Party" got a bit of a start... until, rumor has it, Perot "got the message" that if he continued down his path, his life would be substantially shortened... Then Jesse Ventura became the face of that party... became the governor of Minnesota (the highest office held by a member of a part that did not have an elephant or an ass for it's logo in several decades.) Fact is I'd have voted for him to run the nation back then if he would have continued on. He could have done no worse than we have had done these past years...Now it's down to the dregs of the mainstream parties. If either party had had anyone more qualifies or better suited to head our nation, we'd have seen them by now. The "third parties" are unknows, but we need one of them to shore themselves up... to show enough spunk to inspire the mindless masses that believe the tripe that states we HAVE to vote for the "D" or the "R"... to pull the lever for a different letter instead...I might be alone... hell, I've been alone before... I campaigned for Alan Keyes at one time, so I know lonely... was one of 7 who voted for him in my city but I slept well at night knowing I did what I believed... Got involved, posted the signs, joined the throng at the polling place... the lone voice crying in the wilderness...So... who will I fall in behind this time? I have not decided yet... all I know is that come November, my vote will not go to an "R" or a "D"... I would never be able to live with myself when one of them led us over the edge... we're on the edge because of them... their greed and corruption and lack of leadership. More worried about keeping themselves in power than serving the nation... supporting leaders who line their own pockets at the expense of the people...If our current leaders were in power in any third world or middle easter nation, we'd be talking about invading them to free them from the corruption... but here in America we just hold our noses and vote for four more years of the same... (2 and 6 more too... depending on the office...)My solution? Vote for no incumbents. Vote for no party affiliation where a third choice is given. Take our country back... and then we can turn it over to those we deem worthy...Or better still... take it back and reserve the right to run it for ourselves...
