Matthew C. Clark
I saw your "Rocky" picture. Remember when the lightning strikes & Bulwinkle & Rocky were in sketches & the grass began to grow & the sun is shining & Bulwinkle & Rocky popped up at the end? I was watching a rerun episode of "The Simpsons" & they did the same thing. In the beginning where Homer said "D'oh" while he is running into the garage, then you see the family go to the couch & watch TV or something but I saw something different. Matt did the Simpsons sketch & the grass began to grow. Then Bart Simpson pops up & he spits out something then the credits roll. I thought that was funny!!! julesberry
Rocky and Bullwinkle were great. They don't make 'em like that anymore.Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.Again??? Whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons? I feel bad for kids today. I did watch the Simpsons when they first came out but haven't seen it in years, just don't watch that much tube anymore.Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Touche Turtle and Dum Dum, Wally Gator, Quick Draw McGraw and Baba Louey, Augie Doggy and Daddy Doggy, Super Snooper and Blabbermosue, the list goes on and on with great old cartoons. James
....Deputy Dog, Dudley Duright etc.....the thing about those old cartoons is they entertained on 2 levels,...to kids & concurrently to adults with clever satirical type stuff. A lot of creative juices went into those cartoons.
Julie
on 3 levels, James. What about all of the classical music that was played on those cartoons? Wow! All the greats were covered on cartoons back in the day. When I was 4 or 5 "Santa" brought me my very own record player and a huge stack of LP's--at least 1/3 of them were classical, and even then, I recognized the music. Pretty cool.--JulieP.S. My kindergarten lunch box was a Quick Draw McGraw and then, a couple of years later I got a Secret Squirrel one! Still have them both and the SS one has the original thermos to boot!
