R.I.P. Harvey Korman

Recommended Posts

I'm crushed. Every time I have been to Vegas over the past few years, I seem to have missed seeing Harvey and Tim Conway's show by a day or two. They could almost make me laugh as hard as Laurel and Hardy do. His bits, along with the cast of the "Carol Burnett Show" were priceless. The great Headley Lamarr will be sorely missed. crying

I hadn't heard that. He was so funny, turning around trying to hold in a laugh onstage.

Just yesterday I heard that Carol Burnett is 75. We used to watch that show every Thursday night on WBEN in Buffalo! (The airwaves and antenna helped a lot.)

Hoo boy, it's been a sad half-year in the entertainment world. frown

Harvey Korman was a comic who knew that being a "second-banana" wasn't necessarily a bad thing. He was fantastic. I loved him obviously on Carol Burnett (my fave being the Gone With The Wind take-off)...and I loved him in various Mel Brooks movies (Blazing Saddles & History of The World....where he played "The Count de Money"). "It's good to be the king" & "Oh Piss Boy"....great lines!

This is terribly sad news. My favorite bit that Harvey and Tim did was "the old fireman." "*I'LL save ya!" They could never keep a straight face on that one. My sister and I practically rolled on the floor laughing. The pair of them often nearly cracked Carol Burnett up in the middle of a routine to boot.

What a talented guy. And extremely likeable.

RIP, Harvey. You will be very very sadly missed, but your work will live on and be remembered. You're one of the all-time greats.

I really enjoyed Harvey, Tim, and Carol myself. It was great when they used to crack each other up during their skits. He really seemed like a great guy in real life too. Lots of great memories of Harvey.
