James
Hmmm, a cougar? Hmmmm..Cougars attack. When I was 9 years old, "cougar" is the term I used for my friends' moms that wanted to date me.Hey Shelly .. what did you do to that poor guy while your son went to the bathroom?? ..P.S. Being serious, cougar is very high praise - you got it going on Shelly!
marvin
We moved to Calgary in 1998, from Mtl. The term "Cougar" and it's reference was totally foreign to me in Mtl, never heard it used. Here in Calgary, it's used all the time - and it's connotation is definitely not a compliment!
James
"Cougar" is high praise in the James vocabulary. Thus the term cougar IS high praise.James (that's me) has spoken..
Tim From Wisconsin
Definitely not a compliment. The term "Cougar" is used toward desperate older women who go after much younger men. There are nastier words that the younger generation uses, but since "Cartoon World" is closed I won't go into it. You do not want to be known as a "Cougar".Tim
rockynrobyn1977
I don't have a problem with it.By the way my husband is 5 years younger than me.I don'"t know if that makes me a "Cougar".

Know...That's normal. Women known as cougars go after men as young or younger than their own children. It used to be that you would see men hanging around with girls 25 years younger than them, but now you are seeing women doing the same.Tim
hollies65
What in the world is wrong with kids today? When I was a whippersnapper, there were so many beautiful girls my age, I NEVER thought about older women. I don't think there is a shortage of beautiful young women. rockynrobyn1977
There are so many products and things you can have done now, everyone is trying to stay young forever.Botox is popular and a cheap fix,and everyone tries to stay fit.So looking younger is the payoff. That's what is wrong with our generation. We have to fix everything. blackhawkpat
I have heard the expression used as both a positive and a negative, but I'm sure the youngster meant it as a compliment.
Shelley
I Don't consider myself a "Cougar", I've been married to the same guy for almost 26 years, I guess the kid was paying me a compliment, I don't know, but I thought it was pretty funny,..and According to my son, their definition of a cougar is a hot older woman...I can live with that :p

AnniekNY
A cougar in the US terminology is the hot older woman who prefers younger men. By itself, it is a compliment, as I am sure your son's friend meant it.Usually it's another woman who puts the negative connotation on the cougar by saying "desperate cougar'!! Tommy, you are a playa.
