JCraft
I work with two of the sons of Billy J Killen, who is a member of the Rock-a-billy hall of fame. They have asked me about converting the music to CD. I remeber reading about a process of cleaning the tapes, I believe it was called burning or something similar. Anyone out there have insight as to how this is done, or where it could be done. Also, his son thinks he used ASCAP, but how could I find out who holds the rights to his music?JIm
darlene
If he was a member of ASCAP, he was a member of an association of composers and artists. Hopefully, HE held the rights to his music, and if so, his family estate must. BMI, similarly, doesn't hold rights, but was established to ensure that a composer/artist/musician gets his/her proper royalties when the music is broadcast. --D
popdude
I think the process is called "baking" the tapes, but I don't know how it's done. You might want to try a recording studio; they'd probably know...
mannoman
Yes it's called baking and I am sure Bernie can shed some light on this. It's the process that was used to get data from Eric's Never Say Die demo tape.Ted
