NFL Week 10: Who Do YOU Love?

Nah, I'm no gambling addict, Tony. Betting on football, especially vs. The Number is a quck trip to the poorhouse. Thus I offer the following so that the rest of you can go the other way...

Colts -6 at Bengals

I'm a big Bengals fan and will proudly sport my Bengals rugby shirt at church tomorrow. But the Colts are going to RUN the ball down the Bengals throat. Did you see what they did to New England?

I LOVE the Colts, giving 6.

Lions at Cowboys -8

The Pokes mojo is stoked after last week's Monday night miracle. They're just a touchdown plus a point better than the Honalulu Blues.

I LOVE the Cowboys giving 8.

Panthers -3 at Bears

The town is alather in Bears-mania. I hope the Bears win, but hope don't mean nothin' at the window. A Bears miscue on offense gives the Panthers just enough tomorrow. Sorry Kyle Orten.

I LOVE the Panthers giving 3.

Keith, it's usually money managment, not the picks that that send the knowledgable to the poorhouse. A very very high percentage of sports gamblers lose money, but claim to be winners. I will say though that years ago, I made money almost every year on football. I used to run TheSportsAttic.com where I sold my picks. For personal reasons, I gave up betting several years ago. As far as your picks go.....go with them. Those are three good picks. I favor the Colts & Panthers picks mostly, but the Cowboys pick isn't a bad one either.

2-1

I LOVE the Colts, giving 6.

Right for the wrong reason: Manning has season-high passing game.

I LOVE the Cowboys giving 8.

Right; no clue what happened.

I LOVE the Panthers giving 3.

Wrong for the right reason: Panthers QB Delhomme does monkey on roller skates imitation at Soldier Field. Bears D is not just very good, they're (deep) playoff caliber. Stay tuned.

Bears defense ranked #1 going into today's game...and this ranking not the whole story as it doesn't credit the big plays (turnovers/runbacks/touchdowns) that this defense is known for. Offense is now good and getting better every week.

And the team conducts itself with class..

WATCH OUT!!!....

......they're gonna redeem the Cubs angry

Tony:

I didn't have any money down either. My NFL picks (as well as my princely $2 bets at the track) are strictly of the "for giggles and beer" variety.

Craig:

By "money management" I assume you mean mixing your wagering capital with the rent, not distinguishing between prime and non-prime bets, putting too LITTLE money on bets you believe in strongly, putting too MUCH money on bets you're lukewarm about, etc. Interested in your insights.

Thx

Been rather busy this season to really pay attention to the NFL........and the Colts have THAT kind of record?? I've caught a few glimpses of them, and thought they played exceptionally well, but WOW! Had no clue what their record was until today.

The Seahawks have surprised all of us here, locally. Da Bears have also surprised me.

Broncos and Pats are great. Wasn't too impressed with the Cowboys from what little I have seen of them.....

I don't know if the Bears will win both games from the Packers, but......they're looking more and more like the Ravens of 2000 and the Bucs of 2002 - neither team had much of an offense, but they were capable of shutting down everybody. I suspect they may get past the first round of the playoffs this year. (NOTE: I assume they'll win their Division, even if Minnesota has come to life since Culpepper gfot injured.)

P.S. I'm having a great time here in DC, watching the Redskins self-destruct every week, it seems...and Joe Gibbs' blood pressure builds and builds.....(If anyone wants to know what's happened to them...try the fact that they've gone 1-4 since putting that hot dog free-lancer LeVar Arrington back into their lineup...4-2 without him)

Well Mike, don't you think it is about the Bears win a game in Chicago against the Packers? Geez, it's only been 11 years in the a league that features parity. And if Favre does retire, it is straight to the Hall. How many quarterbacks have the Bears gone through since Favre came into the league? If you are giving the Packers 83 points, I'll take Green Bay and the points!

Billy-Just let them have their fun. They'll win a few years and self destruct. It's called NFL parity. They'll get big headed and think they're better than they are. Happens to every team. Coaches leave, players leave. That's part of what has happened to the Pack. Had to let some players go to keep others. Then the injury bug hit.

I have a mixed marriage- I'm a Packer fan married to a Bear fan. If we make it through football season, we're good for the year. laughspin

My husband got me playing fantasy football. That at least gives us something more to discuss football-wise than the rivalry. smile

Yeah, Favre is a little over rated. He is in the top 10 at his position all time. Kind of tough Mike to be a premier passer every year when you have no one around to throw to. Then again you have that super star Kyle Orton throwing for you, so I guess what you say about Favre makes sense.

I had this Favre argument on Thanksgiving with my brother. He quoted all the stats too. (too many INT'S, TD'S down, YRD'S down) He has no team around hinm right now. He has lost very little in his game. No running game so teams are pass coverage often, and only one reliable receiver that is often double or triple covered. He could play for me any day, even at his present age.
