Muzza
I have just had a phone call from my daughter from the hospital in Auckland (6 hrs drive from us) to say that my grand-daughter Chanelle is having a lumber puncture for suspected meningitis. Some of you will know how painful this procedure is. Obviously we are hoping it is not that but because she has some of the symptoms but not all the Drs are not taking any chances. Please pray for Chanelle, her mum and dad, and two sisters as they are naturally very concerned for her. Of course grand-dad isn't doing so hot either and nor is Kiwi. Part of the problem is the distance and waiting for news. If things aren't clear by the morning we will probably tell our bosses we are off and head north.I will update you of any developments.Muzza and Kiwi

Ecstasy
The whole family is on it, Muzz. We went through similar with my baby grandson, Tyler, who was only about 8 mos at the time. They didn't have to do the test but it came close. Like you and Kiwi are considering, I was there for hours in ER with them. It's scary stuff but she has a lot of people holding her up right now! Love you both!

Muzza
Firstly thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes. We really appreciate it. I forgot to mention that Chanelle is 9 years old.Your prayers have been heard in that the lumbar puncture and blood tests have all come back clear. They are now awaiting the results of mouth swabs they took and so are keeping her in hospital until they know what they are dealing with. Her dad is staying overnight with her but he was not impressed with the bed he had to sleep on. Character building we tell him!! Apparently the back pain and stiffness Chanelle has had was so severe it was causing her to vomit and of course scream at times in agony. They say she was very brave during the Lumbar puncture. Because her back was is such serious spasm they were concerned about doing the Lumbar puncture and thought they may have to retry but it all worked out OK.At this stage Kiwi and I will stay here in Feilding but will reassess that as the weekend (its Thursday here)gets nearer.Again thanks everyone for your support and wishes.Muzza
Ecstasy
I'm so sorry that poor baby had to go through all of that. Ok, one step done and all is good. On to the next step and good news there as well. Please keep us posted as you're able.
Guest
Oh my, I'm sorry I missed that and didn't tell you I was going to pray for you. So I just pray for everybody I know in the world anyhow. And as kidney kid and his sister have the 'flu now, we need to be extra careful. The boy could get another infection, and Dad knows what it's like to sleep in hospital when a 9-year-old doesn't want him to leave!Believe things will be all right, and send lots of love. All the best thoughts and prayers,PM
Tony Cartmill
No meningitis! Yippee! Maybe just temporary tainted lizard-tail sickness from her food at the local McDonalds?I told them the McLizard-Tail Frosty Shakes was a bad marketing move... Muzza
Just to bring you up to date with the latest. Chanelle is now home although obviously not 100% well yet. Not all the results are in yet but enough to make the Drs feel comfortable that nothing really "nasty" is lurking there. As it's school holidays here at the moment she will probably be happier at home with her sisters. Again thank you so much everyone for your prayers, love and concern. We (Kiwi and I)and I know my daughter Rochelle and her her husband Phil do as well.I think one of the hardest parts last night was being so far away and not being there to support my daughter. However God is good and with His and your help we have made it through. THANKS.Muzza P.s. Tony your comments cracked me up. Don't ever stop as you bring a smile we all need from time to time.
