Hey Ted! My Habs vs Your Flyers!

I'll go with Montreal, but they won't get past Pittsburgh in the next round.

What a dumb move Mike Keenan made last night, puling Mikka Kiprisoff, who had made thirty saves still in the second period against the Sharks. Curtis Joseph let in the second shot and looked shaky right away. It's not 1991 Captain Hook! (Although JR did have four points! LOL)

Flyers fans are still living their goon glory days of the 1970's. What do you expect when you've got Paul Holmgren as your GM?

Other than Jeff Carter, Braydon Coburn and Mike Richards (all products of the Canadian World Junior team), I don't think the Flyers can match Mtl's youth and speed, but having said that, I think this series will go the distance, and it's a toss-up.

I have the NHL's Center Ice Package and one of the perks this year was getting both team's feeds of the games. On the Richards hit/penalty, Bill Clement, the Flyers color man, was shouting how they got robbed on a clean hit. On the Montreal telecast, the Habs commentator, not sure who, was saying how it was knee to knee. Funny to hear the different perspectives.

As an impartial viewer, I say it was a penalty. I was very disappointed, though to see the usually classy crowd in Montreal have someone dump a beverage on Richards in the penalty box. That is completely uncalled for and Montreal should have at least been threatened with a bench minor after that.

All the breaks went Montreal's way last night. Carter's broken stick, the last minute penalty, the high stick goal, etc.....Should be a great setup for game two. Flyers really gave that one away.

Despite the fact that I am a big fan of both Carter and Biron, I still say Montreal in five.

Hey Marv, they have another pretty good guy in Prospal.

Anyway, my Rangers take on the Penguins tonight.

Avery has to be able to get Fleury off his game.

Not be invisible like last year against Buffalo round 2.

The Rangers are better defensively as shown in the Devils series. They totally shut NJ down in the third period of game 5.

The Rangers must stay disciplined, must not take stupid penalties, and not get caught up in Crosby's diving antics. With 2 games on national TV I expect the REFS to show off and market Crosby. I just hope the games are determined by good play and not the Refs calling a penalty everytime a Ranger breathes on Sid the Kid.

With that said..Rangers in 7.. Philly in 6.

I think whoever wins the Ranger series will go to the SCF.

What was Jaromir Jagr thinking when he said "Crosby and Malkin are no Mario Lemieux"? Very few can be compared favorably to Mario, so what was the point of firing (especially) these two, up?

BTW, good take by ESPN's Steve Levy when he said "do you realize if you scramble Jagr's first name, you can get MARIO JR?"

Funny stuff!

Yeah, I think that was a little blown up. Jagr was just saying in today's day and age the game is a lot different. No clutching, grabbing, touching..it's a sissy game compared to what Jagr and Lemiuex had to go through. And they were both beloved Penguins.

Did you happen to see the call on Straka with 3 minutes left with the score tied 4-4? Crosby takes a dive when Straka was also going after the puck. Crosby goes down, Straka gets the penalty..Penguins score the go ahead goal and win 5-4.

I'm telling you, if the NHL wants to make things fair and wants the players to decide the outcome instead of the Refs trying to make a name for themselves, there should be NO penalties called with 5 minutes left in the game, unless they are totally blatant. If it goes to OT, same thing.

Not quiet, just frustrated. Let's call a spade a spade: The Flyers have been very fortunate that they're leading this Series. They've been outskated, outshot and completely outplayed in the last three games. Having seen Biron for his entire career, I can safely say that he is playing WAY OVER his head. Yeah I know, sour grapes.

...and I couldn't agree with you more, Marvin.

They have been damn lucky, but luck is what you need sometimes!

I said the Flyers in 6 and I'm still leaning towards that but wouldn't be surprised if they choked and Montreal won it in 7...we'll see!

Players that actually played last night for both teams:

Montreal Players

6 Canadians

4 Americans

9 Europeans

1 Canadian sat on the bench, Price

35% Canadian team

Flyers Players

11 canadians

3 Americans

5 Europeans

1 European sat on the bench, Nittymaki

55% Canadian Team

Very interesting, that "Team Canada", (as some would say) actually has very few native players.

Not that it matters, but it is interesting.

So, come Saturday nights game, if you are truly a fan of Canada, cheer for your true "Home" team, LOL.

We all know, in the playoffs, it' ALL about the HOT goalie.
