Awesome mini concert from Paul. Had a video tribute with music of "Cant Buy Me Love" and rare film footage of Paul with and without the Beatles then he played "Drive My Car" , "Get Back" , "Live and Let Die" (complete with Kiss like rockets exploding around one of my favorite of his solo songs. Finished with the audience participation number "Hey Jude" had all the fans singing along and holding up lights. Still a class act at 60+

Paul is GREAT, no doubt about it! His last tour was unbelievable, as he was singing some of those old Beatles tunes as good as he did back in the early '60s. Still, I had this uncomfortable feeling that Sir Paul was lip synching on the Super Bowl. Take another look (if you taped it). His 'ad-libs' sound like they were EQ'd differently than the main vocals. Also, I was a bit weirded out by the count downs before all of the tunes. That also sounded 'canned.' And if I'm not mistaken, Paul didn't completely make it to his keyboard when the piano intro on "Live And Let Die" began. Hmmm.

Bernie

PS: This isn't a knock on Paul, just a knock on producers who demand perfection on these big and 'all-important' events. The only act I ever saw perform live on the Super Bowl was U2 a few years ago and their performance was electrifying. Mostly due to the fact that it was 100% live -- with vocal errors and sloppy this and that -- all adding up to that intangible live excitement that most of us are shielded from today.

Now I'm sorry I missed it...anyway, if it seems that Mac either lip-synched or there was a tape delay, it's probably because the NFL is not taking any chances anymore after last year, that's all. Not that they thought Sir Paul would try to pull anything funny, but just in case of the unexpected...you know, a streaker for thaat stupid Internet gambling site somehow making it onto the stage or something...I think they just wanted to make sure that no one at the FCC could whine that they didn't do their utmost to ensure a lack of unpleasant surprises this year. No insult to Mac's skills intended, and I'm sure none taken.

And it might be the natural delay that such big places have. Echo varies from stadium to stadium...not to mention feedback...Minnesota's is by far the worse....

So I don't think it's lip-synching---just natural echo from the stadium. Paul was one of the first to get the DBX DriveRack(monitor speaker processor)so he's doing much better than most, equipment. But even with that, it is extremely hard to get a good sound in a large stadium.

LOL...anyway, it's funny, David Letterman last night was saying it looked like Paul was lip-syncing...then he showed what was supposed to be a picture of him singing, and it was a picture of a really old man...the audience did NOT laugh! That was the interesting part. There's not too much his audience holds reverent, but apparently they do not think it is funny to ridicule Macca as an "old man"!

i think marvin and trindy need to relax. sir paul is still a performer in the public eye and as such is fodder for people like letterman (who has passed on very few subjects over the years).

imo (i have paul cd's, beatle cd's and am a huge fan), the half time show was ho-hum....

i'd seen it all before.

i think they should go back to 2 or 3 artists during that 12 minutes or so.
