Captain Harlock
Hey everyone. Here's the thing; I have some old VHS tapes that I want to convert to files/DVD's. I need some kind of video capture device to do that. If anyone out there uses one or has some knowledge I'd appreciate it if you can recommend something. mannoman
Capt'n try this link. It's a bit time consuming but ultimately worth it. http://dvr.about.com/od/tvcapturemethods/ht/ht1.htm
Captain Harlock
Thanks, I ordered a video capture card from Amazon.com. Hopefully that will do the trick. Or else I've just flushed $50 down the drain.
MAM
As far as vhs transfers go, I use a "Dazzle 90" setup from Pinnacle. You can get them at Best Buy. Takes the video and 2 audio channels from your VCR and inputs it through a USB port in your pc. Works great. For dv work we use Sony Vegas and it imports through the Firewire port. Not sure if they make an adaptor for vhs connection or not, but like I said, the Dazzle/USB setup works swell.
