Some musical updates in countries other than the "usual suspects"

Iceland---big stars reaching out to general public.....The Icelandic band Sigur Ros, who has some success aboad, is doing a "thank you" tour of free concerts locally, many of which are un-announced. Also, Bjork is doing her exercise workouts at gyms where normal people go, and not at high-priced places where celebrities go.

Israel---strangely enough, an increase in interest in 1950s Italian music. Club DJs have been throwing old Italian tunes in the mix, as of late.

Turkmenistan---this is really odd......Opera is banned in this former USSR country, and so is lip-synching. But just about every other kind of music is allowed.....

I wish opera was banned in my town, along with rap, hip-hip, techno, show tunes, and Celine Dion.
