angelina
Hey Marvin:I didn't know Mardones was originally from Cleveland. The song "Into The Night" was on the album "Never Run Never Hide"...it had rockers "She's So French" & "Too Young". It's a decent album IMHO.John
James
I also LOVED "Into The Night". For a while, when I first was getting familiar with it, I thought it was for sure Bruce Springsteen..Forgotten song that I loved then, and still love now - "Dizzy" by Tommy Roe- sorry for the poor sound): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8BmIf1A3js
marvin
Didn't realize that there were so many fans of "Into the Night." Re "Dizzy", I recently heard a cover version, and I can't for the life of me remember who it was!Ok so this one wasn't the BIG hit for Player, but I love the chorus and bridge on "This Time I'm In It For Love": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05kF4RDfssk

angelina
Hard to think of Elton having a "forgotten" 45 from the 70's...but I remember listening to this over and over again. Gene Page arranged the strings. Also this sort of bridged the gap between rock, pop, disco and soul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkMXnk16kiE John

marvin
It's so interesting how radio is different from State to State, and country to country. I don't think a week goes by that I don't hear "Rock Me Gently" on our "Classic" station. On the other hand, "Sweet Life" and "Shannon" I haven't heard on the radio in a long time. marvin
Not too much embarasses me Marvin, but that would.. Well I'm a sucker for a horn section on a Pop song, and that one has a killer horn arrangement.
