The Kiwi Connection
Being a "purist" I usually don't like cover versions. But in this case I must confess that I prefer Bon Jovi.

marvin
Way off topic here, but Bess you just mentioned something that I've always been curious about: Is it an American custom (tradition?) to put the Christmas lights up once Thanksgiving is done? Although many people have started doing the same here in my part of Canada, it always struck me as interesting that in the U.S. it seems to happen quite naturally after the long Thanksgiving weekend.Marv
Bessieboo
Marv,I cracked the whip early because the boys are home from college. We have two Christmas parties each year and I want all the decorating done early.Plus, it takes a lot of stuff to make South Florida feel like Christmas. marvin
My in-laws live in Florida, and you're right: The times that we've spent Christmas there have sure felt different. Not better or worse, just different. Must be because we're not used to the lack of snow at that time of year, or the prominence of palm trees.Marv
Kirk
Marv, there is an unwritten rule of Christmas lights; if you haven't taken them down by July, they get to stay up all year round Kirk.

Brioohs
A marvelous cover of "God Only Knows" is currently available for listening on The Mockers' MySpace player. It features drummer Nelson Bragg on lead vocals - Nelson also plays percussion in Brian Wilson's current band. An interesting take on the song to be sure - one that I wish I had thought of!
