Your Most Satisfying Moment

When you first learned to play - what was the first song you were just absolutely thrilled that you learned how to play correctly???

I'm just curious - because since I am still a beginner I pretty much jump for joy if I can figure out how to play something without bass tabs or chords to follow and I play it by ear.....

Oh that's an easy one. It was when I first learned to play "I Want To Hold Your Hand" the correct way! I still LOVE playing it to this day and lots of times my band will warm up with it in the studio. I Love that song.Keep jumping for joy MJ...it only gets better!

I remember the look on my Father's face, when I played along with a James Bond movie that he was watching on TV...the "James Bond" theme, I was about 6, I believe....In the last 10 yrs or so, my "Thrill" was "Cliffs Of Dover" by Eric Johnson...and it really isnt as difficult as it sounds.

This is an easy one! It was my first "adult" concerto, the Vivaldi A Minor Violin Concerto. I was absolutely exhilarated and practiced like a fiend.

The next one that made me happy was the Bach D Minor Concerto for Two Violins because my best friends and I could play it. I remember how we fell in love with our tone on the beautiful second movement and glorying in pushing the tempo of the third movement to the max.

The first "biggie" after the Mozart Concertos was the Mendelssohn in E Minor. Playing the ricochet arpeggios was a coup on that one.

I'll be sublimely and indescribably happy when I'm satisfied with how well I play the Paganini Caprices.

I played this little electronic organ when I was about 5 or 6...I couldn't tell you how to spell the name. It sounds like 'Emanee Organ'. That led to a full size Thomas organ when I was seven. I think "Danny Boy" was probably the first thing I learned.
