"JohnO you need to get out more!"

I agree; that's my goal for this year. (Although actually, I left out a bunch of local shows in DC and NYC I attended of non-national acts). So far, though, I only have tickets for: Daniel Johnston (lunatic from Austin), 2/23 in DC; The Pogues (St Patrick's Day show) at Roseland, NYC, 3/15; and Terry Adams (ex-NRBQ), Annapolis, 3/22.

I'm thinking about going the scalper's route for Clapton/Winwood at MSG in late February, but have a boot show of theirs from last year, and it isn't really that inspired/inspiring.....not for the $300 or so per ticket it's going to cost (I HATE arena and stadium shows!!!)

"Well actually I was being facetious."

Marv - I know you were....so was I. Truth be known, I probably have to slow down a bit this year....at my advancing age....

Also...you have a family and a life! Some of us just try to make out that we do by staying busy as Hell.....it makes the time pass.

I had a good year for concerts:

1. Raspberries in Cleveland, Dec. 14/07

2. Crowded House in Montreal, Aug. 07

3. Aretha Franklin in Toronto, April 07

4. Cheap Trick (and April Wine) in Belleville, Ontario, July 2007

I might have the dates wrong, but you get the idea. Raspberries and Crowded House were great, Aretha has seen better days but it was still cool to see her...and Cheap Trick, well, at least I got a pick from Rick Nielsen. I was in the front row, but too close to the speakers and too close to Robin Zander (he looked *rough*).

One of my new years resolutions is to see more live music in 2008.

The best of what I did see in 2007 (in no particular order) is:

The Figgs @ the Parlor in Phila

Fountains of Wayne @ the Troc in Phila

Raspberries @ the Highline in NYC

The A's - Electric Factory in Phila

The rest were just okay.

2007 was a GREAT Year for Concerts!

In Chronological Order;

ERIC CLAPTON - Fargodome Fargo, ND March 30th Went with my 21 year old nephew who had a blast from row 5 on the main floor. Eric celebrates his 62nd Birthday in Fargo, North Dakota No less! Clapton’s guitar work was first rate as was his band. A real FUN Concert! Worth the price just to hear Layla, Wonderful Tonight and Cocaine.

The KNACK - Lakefront Park Hudson, WI June 15th. The Knack played this outdoor benefit for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for free as they did in 2005. Donations were accepted at the gate. A shortened powerhouse set due to the rain by these under appreciated Rock legends. Judging by the high energy note perfect Show. Who would have known lead singer Doug Fieger had underwent Chemo 2 days before the Concert (for a Brain tumor)? After a 20 minute rain delay the Knack returned for a rousing “My Sharona†and “Havin’ a Rave Up†as it started out pour again. Incredible guitar work by Berton Averre. The Knack are one tightest most polished Live bands playing today!
