I posted about this earlier, but got no response....The Searchers (the originals, with John McNally and Frank Allen) are playing 2 shows in Manhattan at The Cutting Room on Tuesday, 5/8/07. Looks like a good opportunity for EC.Commers from the NY/NJ area to get together & hear some great music. Tickets are $35 (general admission) and $50 (reserved VIP seats), and are available thru the Cutting Room's site. Shows are at 7PM and 9:30PM. (So far, Ira & I are going)....

WOW..wish I could make it, but alas, we have plans to be in NYC the following weekend to see the METS/Yanks series at Shea. Would love to hear all about it from all of you who will be there. Hopefully, pics will also be available on this site.

THANKS...Robin

Robin...Maybe by by the time that game is about to take place, A-Rod will piss you off enough that you'd rather join us and listen to the sweet sounds of the Searchers.

Remember Robin...The Searchers care about you...Lastings Milledge, Jason Giambi, and A-Rod don't! I know this for a fact!-Ira.

And I almost forgot that Spencer had a day in the sun with the hit "Beach Baby" with the band First Class. They did that song at the Empire Theater show I caught in Liddypoole last year.

They really are a tight bunch - consummate professionals and a well-oiled machine. The harmonies are still glorious after all these years.

"And I almost forgot that Spencer had a day in the sun with the hit "Beach Baby" with the band First Class."

And he was their lead guitarist, not the lead singer on that single (Tony Burrows), as they've implied at shows, but never outright stated.

...Yep, and about six dozen other hits in the 60s and 70s.....(including the immortal "Gimme Dat Ding" by The Pipkins)...

Actually, I don't think Tony sang on "Thank U Very Much", by The Scaffold (with Mike McGear, Paul McCartney's brother)....
