Rich Pirone
Don't know if anyone is interested, but I found this article on Billboard.com. "Former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, Hanson's Taylor Hanson and Fountains Of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger have formed a new band, Tinted Windows. The group has recorded its debut album at Stratosphere Sound Studios in New York, which Schlesinger and Iha co-own with Ivy's Andy Chase. The set is expected this spring on a label to be announced.Tinted Windows will play its first major show at Billboard's South by Southwest showcase, to be held March 20 at Pangaea in Austin, Texas."Sounds like a band I want to hear. LC
It does sound like an interesting mix, Allen. I just saw that Billboard note, which reports they've recorded an album on a label "to be announced."
LC
Hearing about a Cheap Trick guy in a "supergroup" reminded me of Carmine Appice's band in the early 1980s. It's been mentioned a bunch of times on this site over the years, but I couldn't remember everyone in it. So (not to stray from the topic of this thread), a quick search produced the answer in a quote by Appice at vintagerock.com: "After I left Rod Stewart, I knew I was a really big in Japan, so I put a Super Session tour together in Japan, and I asked Rick [Derringer] to go, because Rick was a friend. So it was Rick Derringer, Tom Petersson, Eric Carmen, Duane Hitchings, and myself. We played the Budokan and other theaters. We did six shows and they were very well attended, if not sold out. Someone just gave me a CD of a live recording of the Budokan show when I was in Japan in December." I remember hearing about Eric touring with those guys, but few other details in those pre-Internet days....PS: Actually, Bernie had a nice thread on that tour, with pics, in anyone missed it: http://www.ericcarmen.com/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=12;t=000021

marvin
Who's the lead singer in this band? Taylor Hanson has an incredible voice.
marvin
Looks like Taylor might be the lead singer: http://www.tintedwindowsmusic.com/site/t...tedwindowsmusic
Doug
Yes, it's definitely Hanson singing lead on the video. My only question is - what, if anything, does this mean for Fountains of Wayne? Adam has at least 3 groups he's in, plus doing music for Broadway Shows, TV specials, Cartoons, etc. FoW takes too long to make records already - this can only make it worse. So, I'm a little bummed about that, but I'll still check this new thing out.Doug
