Daisy McLintock
Not sure if this will take off or not, but I am NOT listening to (artists you never understood):Pina Colada - Billy Joel
Rich From PA
Pina Colada was actually Rupert Holmes and you're right. No one is listening to him.

Shelley
I know I'll probally get slammed for this, but ...the BeeGee's....sorry folks, I just can't stant the pitch of their voices...to me its like fingernails reacting with a chalkboard. boopell
I guess I'll get slammed with Shelley because I agree with her on the BeeGee's and double-slammed because I have to add the Beach Boys.As for Pina Colada--I hear it literally every day on the local radio station we listen to at the restaurant. hollies65
Are you familiar with the Bee Gees 60s and early 70s work? They did not develop their falsetto sound until the mid 70s. Depriving ones self of vintage Bee Gees is a sad thing.
marvin
I guess I'll get slammed with Shelley because I agree with her on the BeeGee's and double-slammed because I have to add the Beach Boys.Wow, the Bee Gees AND the Beach Boys slammed in the same post? marvin
I do like "Jive Talkin'"---does that help? "Jive Talkin'" - from the album "Main Course", one of the top 10 albums of the 1970's, in my opinion.
hollies65
I believe people who don't like the Beach Boys are people who are not familiar with the Beach Boys music...save for the early hits. Boopell. I'm going to post two Beach Boys songs off a not so popular album of theirs...'Surfs Up'...listen to each song three times...you'll want to buy the album....first song.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcUeSDMll5s&feature=related

ira
Led Zeppelin.Always realized they had something special...Never liked the sound though...Prefer their great grandfathers "The Yardbirds".-Ira.
boopell
Steve-- the songs you posted are better than what I think of when I think Beach Boys-especially "Disney Girls".I don't remember much of the 60's musicwise and in the 70's I was listening to Raspberries, BTO, Grand Funk, Alice Cooper, Boston, Cheap Trick and ELO. I guess it's just a preference for a different sound. And Duane--I like George Harrison.
marvin
I go through the daily process of listening to all my cd's / albums in alphabetical order, so I don't skip anything - even the ONE Zep cd and ONE Zep album that I have.
Shelley
Ok,Ok...I will admit that I like the BeeGee's song..."Run to me", but thats the only one...I know they were a great group, but not my cup of tea...
marvin
While I can understand members of this Message Board not 'getting' The Grateful Dead, because the Dead are not what you'd classify as a 'Pop' group, but not liking Pop groups like the Bee Gees or the Beach Boys? blackhawkpat
I'm going to say a group that I know a number of people here like, but I just don't see what is so good.....Rush. I even have a nephew named "Neal" after the drummer. Never liked them.To me, they sound like a band making fun of "Spinal Tap".I'm also not listening to Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, or Simon and Garfunkel (though I do like Art as a soloist). Sorry, just not my cup of tea. Even bought a few albums to see what I was missing. I wasn't.

No likey that much.I like a very wide variety of music. The only type of music I cannot tolerate is Heavy Metal. It makes me fall asleep. I wish it didn't, but it does.
