Bob Allen
"Vocalist/bassist Jack Bruce of the legendary late '60 power trio Cream has just announced the band will reunite again in 2006 for a handful of shows in select cities, just as they did last year. "What we feel is that it's so special, and also so emotionally draining that it's not something we could do every day," Bruce says. "We will play more, but where and when I'm not at liberty to say." Jeez...let's just hope they don't come to a town near you! I watched in horror/amazement their recent PBS 'special.' Oh dear Lord. That's about all I can say (other than the fact that Eric Clapton dresses like an 'itinerant farm worker' [thanks to E. Carmen for that gem of a line, which Tommy and I have used for eons!]. JohnO
Actually, I rather enjoyed their May 2005 London shows via audience bootleg recordings....however, when the DVD came out and I got to also watch them....Well, the MSG shows in Oct. sold out in minutes at ridiculous ticket prices.....and, while EC certainly doesn't need the money (but see my comments below), Jack & Ginger could probably use it. I tried to get tickets myself...but, when I got shut out, I flew to LA and saw the Raspberrie instead....and I'm sure I had a much better time than had I driven to NYC for a MSG show....Clapton, in a recent interview, when asked why he continues to perform, the interviewer implying that he's set for life financially, stated that he has to keep on in order to maintain his family's current lifestyle. Poor babies.......

JohnO
James - Does J.J. Cale also look like an itinerant farmer?....cause he, not EC, wrote "Cocaine"
James
You are correct....but you'll have to take your complaint up with GOD...
pierson
.......anyway to answer your question:I AM PUNISHING YOU FOR YOUR CONSTANT PUT DOWN OF "ITINERANT FARMERS"...COMPARING THE WRITER OF "COCAINE" TO THESE SALT OF THE EARTHS[/QB]the recent live Cream footage was very sluggish and lame, to say the least...as for Eric Clapton... for the man who gave us "Badge," "Bell Bottom Blues" and "Let It Grow" to fall off the mark in such quick dreadful fashion w/ crap like "Cocaine" (cover, or not) and "Lay Down Sally" and the godawful "Pretending"... Bob is spot-on... Farmer attire dig deserved...
