Billy K.
Anyone familiar with Robert Hazard??.....for those of you who don't know, he is the guy that wrote "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"....and CyndiLauper said on the liner notes of "She's So Unusual", something like "I apologize to Robert Hazard for changing his song".Now, just who exactly IS Robert Hazard? Never heard of him before Cyndi Lauper's breakthrough, and never heard of him afterwards...yet he wrote one of the most all-time fun songs! Was the song originally recorded by someone else first and flopped? Is the name a pseudonym for somebody else? Is it one of those fluke things where the guy wrote only a handful of songs, and got lucky with the one super smash hit? Paulguitar
Billy,Robert Hazard was big in Philly in the early 80's new wave days. He had a hit in the area called "The Escalator of Life". Local radio played local artists in rotation with more established artists. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" was a huge cultural success spawning a movie of that title, etc. Here's a link to his history. http://www.phillyrockers.com/robert_hazard_and_the_heroes/history.htm
