boopell
Marlene-Our prom theme in '79 was "Stairway to Heaven", too.But we only had a Morticia Addams wicker chair-no stairs. My junior year's theme was "Night's Are Forever".But I'm sure we didn't have a class song. Duane
We didn't have a class song either, as I attended an all boys(easy....easy...on the remarks) Catholic Institution. I always wondered what the G in GMan stood for...not that there's anything wrong with that...heehee
GMan
What are you a wisenheimer or something....go bale some hay...heehee
Duane
Sorry G, couldn't pass up a shot at a Giants fan...haven't had many chances lately. My mighty Cowboys will take care of that this year, though. Looks like the Giants are collecting Kentucky quarterbacks...drafting Woodson to go along with Lorenzen. Is it because one of the best QBs that they ever had (Phil Simms) was from Kentucky or are they just trying to class up the team? Now, if they could just pull off the Shockey trade I might be able to stand them. (Eli is still not a great QB)
GMan
Believe it or not...Shockey isn't all that popular up here either. He drops way too many passes and has much too big a mouth for a lot of fans. Including myself. I wish they would get rid of him. As far as Eli goes...he's still a work in progress. Yeah...I know...he's been there for 4 years. And yeah...we LOVED Phil! Duane
Amen to all that on Shockey...I think he was caught up in all his media hype. It had to kill him that he played no part whatsoever in their title run...I think Eli played better without his nonsense. I pulled for the Giants in the SB (tough choice but I hate the Patriots more than the Giants), but I don't think I could have if Shockey was playing. BTW...I think that kid Boss is a beast...the Giants should've took whatever the Saints were offering for Shockey...they're a better team without him. (Winningham was a steal)
hollies65
Eli was good enough to win a Super Bowl..how much better do you have to be?
Duane
Steve said: Eli was good enough to win a Super Bowl..how much better do you have to be? The Giants Defense was good enough to win a Super Bowl...Eli was lucky enough to win a Super Bowl. I don't mean that as a hater or sour grapes because I'm a Cowboy fan...and it's not a Manning thing because I think Peyton Manning is the best QB in the NFL (Brady's great, too but I'd take Peyton). That said, I wouldn't want Eli as my QB. People think he turned the corner with this playoff run and is now an elite QB...I just don't buy it. I have been wrong before (once or twice), but I think he'll be the same inconsistant Eli. Maybe all he needed was to get rid of the Shockey pressure in the huddle and on the sideline, I dunno, but I'd be willing to bet this is his only SB (I admit it's one more SB than most guys who ever played QB ever got). As for his SB performance that he got so much credit for: he barely completed 50% of his passes and 2 of those completions were no thanks to Eli (Toomer's GREAT diving catch for 38 yards that had to be reviewed and Tyree's "once-in-a-lifetime" catch with his helmet). He threw an interception (and almost another) and fumbled twice (Giants recovered both). On the Giants game winning drive, he hit Asante Samuel in the hands and the guy with more interceptions than anybody in the NFL in the last 2 years dropped it (could've ended the game) and he somehow got out of a sure sack (great play on his part) but then, in a typical Eli panic, blindly launched a hail-mary pass into heavy coverage in the middle of the field that resulted in Tyree's miracle catch. If he threw that ball 100 times, it would have been intercepted, batted down or incomplete 99 times...but like they say...sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. This was just the Giants year, they're the Super Bowl champs and nobody can take that away...but a lot of things went their way. There were plays in the Cowboy, Packer and Patriot games (that the Giants had nothing to do with) that had they not went the Giants way, they lose. But hey, the Giants made their plays and the other teams didn't so the Giants deserve the title...again, I don't want to come off as a hater or sour grapes here. Just football talk (albeit in the wrong thread) from a guy that was rooting for the Giants in the NFC Championship (I was all "Favre is a god" 'ed out) and the Super Bowl (anybody but the Patriots). I just don't think Eli played any better than normal and I can't see the stars and planets aligning just right for Eli and the Giants again. Captain Harlock
This year they proved how unnecessary Jeremy Shockey is. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not in a Giant uniform in the near future.
angelina
They were shopping Shockey around before the draft...now they don't have any takers. I also agree with Duane.......Eli just doesn't do it for me, nor for Vegas for that matter...since they don't have the Giants near the top. That being said however.......if a team gets hot at the right time of year...and they don't turn the ball over....who knows. God knows the Giants were nowhere near the top of the prognostications last year.John (woeful Jet fan)

Billy K.
Our prom theme song was "Seasons in the Sun", and the class four years behind us had "Time Will Reveal"(DeBarge)
