Marc Nathan
"We May Never Pass This Way Again" is Seals and Crofts, which was JIM Seals, not Dan...
LC
Sad.... 61 is so young.PS: Annie, I think that song you quoted was Seals & Crofts, right? (Dan Seals was the brother of one of those guys.)
ECatw
How sad. I loved his music w/ John Ford Coley. One of my favorites was his duo w/ Marie Osmond -Meet Me in Montana. I'll miss that beautiful voice. Rest in Peace.
MAM
I loved his two cd's of reworked acoustic versions of all of his ED&JFC his, and solo hits.Talented man. Cancer sucks.RIP Dan.
Paulie Mississippi
I sadly regret passing on a chance to see him live a few years back... can't imagine what was so important as he was one of my favorites... both with JFC and then solo... My favorite of his tunes was "Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)" over on the country side of things... And after my years out west in Idaho, I agree with another of his sentiments... "God Must Be A Cowboy"... And... according to a news article I just read..."Seals' older brother, Jimmy, was the Seals in Seals & Crofts, who recorded the hits "Summer Breeze" and "Diamond Girl" in the 1970s.Until Dan Seals got sick, the brothers were working as a duo, Seals & Seals. They performed some shows and were recording an album but never finished it. The songs they did complete, about eight in all, will be released."RIP Dan. Kirk
"Bop" was a great song, also. I've have both versions of "Everything That Glitters". The acoustic one is very tender. Sad news.
susana
Danny Seals was one of the nicest people I ever had the chance to meet...I consider myself lucky to have known him casually in the '70's and '80's. In addition to his wonderful talent, he was a caring man with a gentle, loving soul...a truly good person on all levels. He was an angel here on earth and my heart goes out to his friends and family.S*
Crg2
This is awful. I love the Southwest F.O.B. album, and, though I'm not much for Country music, his song "Everything That Glitters" is achingly beautiful, the best rodeo song ever written, in my opinion. So sorry. Tony Cartmill
Whoever was producing/mixing/engineering those old England Dan/John Ford Coley tunes was at the top of their game. They still hold up. Seals was good at making hits of other people's quality tunes as well as his own. RIP
