Art
Does anyone know anything about the Beachland Ballroom. Are there many seats? How big is it? Having never been there I'd appreciate any insights.
darlene
It sounds like the Beachland Ballroom didn't exist when you lived in Cleveland. How old is it, anyway, I wonder? --Darlene
beachberry
It has only been around since 2000. It holds appox 500-600 in the ballroom. Some evenings there are tables, other nights you stand. The venue also has a seperate bar where bands play. After the Choir concert on Friday, Wally's son Jessie's band will be playing in the bar ( free to all concert goers). The building also conatins a music store with hard to find "old" music as well as some "alternative" music. The venue is in the heart of the East Side of Cleveland with easy access off Routes 90/2. hof63
Direct from The Beachland Ballroom web page. "The Beachland Ballroom was built in 1949 as the Croatian Liberty Home, with the ballroom and tavern comprising the original structure. In 1976 the kitchen and back bar area were added. The Liberty Home was active on many social and political fronts and was a true Cleveland landmark before becoming Cleveland's most ecclectic music club in the year 2000." okstevens
Beachberry, Thanks for the heads up on Jessie playing Friday.I'd love to see him play again. Will he be playing Saturday? If not its one more reason to be a little pissed off about buying tickets for the "FIRST" reunion show in 30 years by the group only to find out the first show is actually the second show. Argee
WOW. Wally is really slim. The picture of him in today's Cleveland Plain Dealer shows his diet really really is working. What is his secret?
