A Taste Of Summer II

Recommended Posts

Well, They are trying again.

No Raspberries this year frown , but they are bringing back Roger Hodgson on Friday June 9th. He was fantastic last year, and I will be there to see him again.

Lots of other decent entertainment during the 3 days of the fest including: The Turtles, The Association, The Buckinghams, Marty Balin from Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Poco, etc...

If any fellow board members are there, I will be in seat 1 in the second row for Roger Hodgson - Stop and say hello! We can talk about the upcoming "event" on October 6th in Cleveland! happy

Tim,

I remember so well Waukesha last summer and how hot it was. The Berries certainly heated up the stage with their performance. I will miss seeing them but hey....Buckinghams, Association, Turtles. Not too bad for this boomer who had songs from those groups as part of the soundtrack of my life. Thanks for the info.

Yes, Waukesha. I also saw the posting. I agree with the Summerfest remark. What a poorly run event last summer. I guess if most of us were so inept at our jobs we wouldn't have the coin for high speed internet conncetions. Yes, the Box Tops, Raspberries and Bowling For Soup show was extremely cool! I do not want to repeat earlier dialogue on this subject, other than the total class of Mr. Carmen with the performance and autographs after the great show. Carmen is a total gentleman.

Well...

I went on Friday night, and it seems that they have made some improvements since last year. They moved the Main stage to the other side of the grounds and they covered the entire seating area - Much better, especially since it was raining on and off and it was around 50 degrees.

Marty Balin was very good. He sounded great on the Jefferson Starship songs he performed!

Roger Hodgson was amazing!! He sounded terrific, and he has such a great raport with the crowd. This year he had a Black Grand Piano, an electric keyboard, and his acoustic guitar. The entire show was just Roger moving from instrument to instrument to play whatever fit the song he was going to play. He performed for just under 2 hours - His show was about 90% Supertramp songs and 10% solo material. Highlights for me were "Hide In Your Shell", "Even In The Quietest Moments", "Dreamer", "Lord Is It Mine", and "Give A Little Bit". happy
