hollies65
Interesting site.. http://www.futurerockhall.com/artist.php?artist_id=The_Hollies
marvin
Steve did you create this site? I hated just about everything Bon Jovi did from their beginning to about 10 years ago when I thought that that they finally matured and started writing a bit more interesting stuff, but it's pretty scary (funny?) to think that both Bon Jovi and Run DMC might might get in before the Hollies. hollies65
Oh yeah...ALOT of people campaigning for The Monkees on that site!
Captain Harlock
How is Madonna in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame? Oh wait a minute now I remember. But does anyone else really think there's something inherently wrong with that?
hollies65
Around here I think it's split 50/50 on Madonna. The Searchers have more support than even The Monkees on that site!
marvin
You can say what you like about the quality and calibre of the Monkees' material, but the reality of the situation is that the Monkees will never be taken seriously - by most people
tgp
KISS, Alice Cooper. But Jann Wenner will never allow it..
Mood Indigo
I totally agree with The Hollies, all they did was pump out hit after hit.How about the Moody Blues?

Brian Michael Page
OK - I looked at the "future qualifiers" page last night. How the hell does MC Hammer qualify??? He is NOT rock and/or roll. He's just a rapper - RAP = Retards Attempting Poetry. Madonna's not rock either. But I guess being a whore will get her places. Of course, who inducted her? Justin "I gave Janet the wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl" Timberlake, of course! On a positive note: I agree on the Hollies AND the Moody Blues. Eric/Berries appear as one entity in the 2000 page ("Eric Carmen and the Raspberries"). I wouldn't mind seeing Steve Miller (the best act to appear with Raspberries on EITHER of the Kirshner concerts) or Badfinger either.BMP
BEATNUT
Eric should be inducted on his own merit, and the Raspberries should also be on their own merit.
Lee Marshall
Madonna is to 'Rock' what I am to femininity.I'd vote for the Guess Who today, tomorrow and every day until they finally take their rightful place in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Shame...sorry ... fame. hollies65
I voted for the Guess Who on that site. I also voted for...The Moody Blues,Zombies,Hollies Raspberries,Turtles. Voted no on Brittney Spears.RHCP,Pat Benetar and Green Day.I also posted what I thought of Brittney and I'm sure by tonight I will have a full page of hate posts to read! Brian Michael Page
I'm for the Guess Who as well. Britney Spears - forget it! She's following right in Madonna's footsteps (on an even worse scale) in terms of sluthood. I'm sorry but slut-pop and rock and roll are two different things.BMP
TOMMY TUNES
I voted for the Guess Who on that site. I also voted for...The Moody Blues,Zombies,Hollies Raspberries,Turtles. Voted no on Brittney Spears.RHCP,Pat Benetar and Green Day.I also posted what I thought of Brittney and I'm sure by tonight I will have a full page of hate posts to read! I think this is the first time I've ever disagreed with your taste or opinion. Green Day is a good band and their last album 'American Idiot" is possibly the best album since the late 70's (The Sex Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks". Elvis Costello's first 2 CDs) and that's a lot of years.Certainly in the top 5 or 10 best CDs over those years. I await their next CD. Lee Marshall
I'm not much of a Green Day fan. Their stuff just sounds too similar to me. Mind you...I did like A LOT of American Idiot too. AND so many bands have fashioned their sound after Green Day that is SICKENING. So with that influence...they'll make it I'm sure.
marvin
Green Day isn't eligble for another 10-15 years, I believe.
Lee Marshall
And Madoona's in? Eligible how? Years in the biz...with NO Rock ['n' Roll] songs to her credit whatsoever? Not a one. Bull excrement!!!And Brian Wilson ain't eligible til something like 2011? Sensible.
marvin
Brian is eligible in 2011 as a 'solo' artist. 2011 would make it 25 years since his first 'solo' release - and 25 years is the 'rule' of eligibilty.
JohnO
"...25 years is the 'rule' of eligibilty."Then Brian's been eligible as a solo act since 1991! His first solo release was a 45 of "Caroline, No" in the wake of "Pet Sounds".....released in '66.
Poor4Life
With Ahmet Ertegan gone, Jann Wenner has more control then ever about who gets in, and who stays out.Say what you will about The Monkees, but they deserve to be in, as well as...The HolliesThe Moody BluesChicagoLinda RonstadtWarren ZevonThe Doobie BrothersHeartCheap TrickELOThe Guess WhoRushKISSThe CarsForeignerStyxJourneyNeil DiamondNeil SedakaBad CompanyJethro TullHall & OatesThat's just a short list, I can come up with more that are more qualified to be in then Grandmaster Flash, Madonna, and othersJeff
