Captain Harlock
I ordered mine on Amazon.com. One of the merchants that I had ordered from "sold" the one copy he had and gave me a refund. We'll see how this works the second time around.
hollies65
It's at #164 on Amazon...I think it may have a real shot at the Billboard top 200.

marvin
Like some of the 'old timers' on this board, I've known "Trindy" for a few years. She has even come to Calgary to see our band, albeit the Skating Championships were also in town. She is nothing if not passionate about her beliefs and as she says, decent and honest. She doesn't deserve to be insulted for expressing her opinion.Marv
hollies65
No one should be insulted for their opinions...although I believe anyone who disagrees with someones opinion has the right to express their differences of opinion. I think some here know and like some of the people putting these 'Deluxe" sets together and take offense at the tone of some of Trindy's posts...and yes I think they[the opposing views] are going somewhat overboard...like Bob's second post. The traffic ticket one was funny though.
luvthemraspberries
mellie said: Luvthem - go to the post office and fill out the green HOLD MAIL card. When you get back in town, your set will be safe and sound in a little basket waiting for you and you'll be able to enjoy your trip without worrying about what might or might not be. Thanks Mellie I actually was thinking of that (filling out a hold order for our mail!), after having posted... Let me just say, though of course I can't lie and say that I'm *not*, a little disappointed, by the delay ~ at the same time, I'm incredibly excited and am SO happy that the 'Berries are getting played on the air again with a new release, and selling out the CD on Amazon and in local stores (our Best Buy DID have some copies, but they sold out in a flash!), that in itself is awesome, something I thought I'd never see! I couldn't stand it, I saw one of the deluxe editions with the DVD at a local record store (CD Exchange) and picked it up ~ it felt good!! I have yet to watch the DVD, but will later!! Hey, if nothing else, I know my Sis will gladly take it off my hands, so it's a *win/win* situation! Thanks Al for posting also regarding the delay, much appreciated! Al K
Trindy, et al,To clarify: we had completed the mixing, editing and producing on the 5 tracks that are on the commercial DVD much earlier in this process. It's a whole different ballgame editing, mixing and producing 21 tracks for audio and video, with the 21 song concert DVD available in both surround and stereo playing options, plus a boatload of extras, not to mention the technical end - the very time consuming process of encoding and authoring all of this content to play very nicely and be user-friendly on the 5 different DVD menu screens. Then we threw in 6 ( and maybe 7 if I start feelin' some LOVE here!) downloads that weren't even part of the original plan. We were gonna do two tracks from the VH1 sessions. We ended up doing 4 tracks plus 2 interview segments, simply because we thought you guys would dig it.Believe me, the quality of the 5 track DVD is just as great as the HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of extra content on the Limited and Special Edition. Hopefully this all makes sense.Al
Muzza
For those of you feeling impatient, consider this.... we will be in the States when ours arrives here in New Zealand. We won't get to open it until the 1st September. As Ryko don't distribute to New Zealand we can't even hope to find a shop that may be stocking a different version. Also... when we ordered our set the exchange rate meant we are paying another 30% on the price you are paying. We are just pleased that we have had the opportunity to obtain a set. Thanks Al and team for even doing this project.Muzza and Kiwi
LC
Al, your explanation is nice, and I'm glad we have that extra info, but even without it, the consensus seems to be: Hey, a slightly longer wait is okay. You guys are going above and beyond to load up the LE sets with everything fans could want. I for one understand that things often take long than expected, and I would rather wait an extra week or two if it means more perks.... darlene
We were able to find one deluxe set at FYE and I'll continue to look for one to purchase for my girlfriend, who loves Raspberries and Eric music. I was expecting something phenomenal, but both the dvd and every track on the cd were so far beyond world class, we *still* can't believe it! The sound is so crystal clear and the performances so perfect, it's incredible!!! It certainly sets the *gold standard* for the recording industry. If "perfection is consuming," it certainly is worth waiting *any* length of time for in this case. Trindy, when you play the dvd and cd, when you received it will no longer be an issue. It sounds like the band is performing a few feet away and the sound is incredibly true and crystal clear. PERFECT. It certainly brings the concert experience home. The performances are perfect as well. You'll see. --Darlene

Right now as I'm typing, I'm listening to/watching the DVD from the Deluxe set that I was so fortunate to find earlier today...can I just say, watching *Overnight Sensation* is literally just giving me CHILLS! If this is any indication what we're in for with the Limited Edition, count me in as one of many that feels the wait is so worth it (I apologize for being testy earlier, lol!)!! THANKS AGAIN for all that ya'all did, to make this such a special and timeless package, for us long-time, loyal fans!
darlene
After visiting two Barnes & Nobles and a Borders, I found that they're not carrying them at all in their stores, but can order both versions for customers. When I asked if they can order them as stock, I was told that upper management makes those decisions and they can only stock what they're sent. Although flyers are not allowed, I "forgot" a couple and left them on the counter. Hopefully those will find themselves in eager hands. FYE not only had a deluxe copy, they also had a Raspberries category! I'll have to return to take a picture of that. They said the deluxe cd will automatically reorder because I purchased it. If I don't find another for my girlfriend Millie, I'll purchase the reorder and hope they get more in. I'll visit independent stores with flyers and start putting them up at music stores where rock musicians gather to buy equipment and any other public places that have bulletin boards. After seeing and hearing the "perfection" Al talked about, it's easy to see why production took so long: I've never seen or heard anything that comes near the quality of this masterpiece. It's thrilling to experience--GOOSEBUMP CITY!!! The performances and production are just that--PERFECT!!! And with 21 songs and the dvd (not to mention all the add-ons on the LE version), it's like mixing a DOUBLE album. Even the booklet is a work of art. This is truly the accomplishment of a lifetime. This cd sets the *gold standard* for the recording industry. Congratulations to Raspberries, Billy, Paul & Jennifer, Eric, Mark Linnet, Bernie and everyone who was involved in the production of this WORLD CLASS miracle! It's way beyond a dream come true!!! --Darlene

Hey Darlene, let me know if you can't find a deluxe set for Millie (I'm a myspace friend of Millie's! ) and I'll see if the CD Exchange store in my area has another copy still! Kirk
Al--Here's a question for you. I have a t.v. with built in speakers (kind of sounds like the old drive-in movie speakers ). If I pop in the dvd, and start the cd at the same time on my monster stereo, will they play in synch, or is the editing different on each? Thanks--Kirk. Argee
Kirk, can't you run the audio out from your DVD player to the AUX input on your stereo and turn the TV sound down?
Kirk
Argee--My receiver is from the early '70's...I'm using every available jack for something, and everything is in the back (basically unnaccessible). It wouldn't be worth the hassle, although it might be doable...Thanks for the suggestion. Still curious if the cd/dvd are edited the same for sound.--Kirk. conan1982
Howdy,After four days of store visits, phone calls and web searches I discovered none of the NYC Bestbuy or Virgin Megastore locations have either release, and the local FYE would only special order it.This is NEW YORK CITY!!! How could none of these stores have this disc?Peace,Jeff PS Figuring it would be a wait in any case I ordered the deluxe edition through deepdiscount.com ... Bessieboo
I am a little disappointed, I understand I must wait for the big Pkg and I am okay with that. But I still have an itch for instant gratification too. I was looking to find "Live On Sunset Strip" locally. No Luck! Can you believe in all of South Florida no one has it in stock? They are all willing to order it for me, I could do that too but it won't get here in time before I leave for England. So I'll download the iTune but it's not the same thing<pout> I want something to look at as well, I'll bring the laptop to keep up and see every one's reaction to getting the LE. And live vicariously through you all until I can open my own.
JohnO
I finally managed to snag a Deluxe version via Amazon (one of the last ones sold from their initial supply), only to have the "1 day delivery" show up 2 days later! Nonetheless, I'm glad I finally got the 2 commercial versions...a bit more scratching of my itch!Of course, this is a fabulous package, a great listen, perhaps the best sounding live album ever, etc.......but I'm totally appalled by Ryko, on the one hand, appearing to promote the Hell out of this (on their web site, for example) while, on the other hand, seemingly missing the boat with retail stores. In practically every store where I looked for it in my neck of the woods, there were Raspberries CD sections, and copies of the last Capitol compilation (from several years ago) sitting there. These stores didn't appear to me to be reluctant to stock that Capitol release! Have the dynamics of selling CDs over the counter changed that much over the past few years? And BTW...in Barnes & Nobles and Borders, you can log into a local terminal there and find out if a CD or book is available at any of their stores within a certain distance....in every case, the Deluxe version was listed as a "Special Order only" or words to that effect for all local outlets....so it wasn't as if they only ordered a handful of copies and sold them out (like in NYC). They just didn't stock it!I never thought I'd ever say this, but damn, I miss Tower!!!
Raspbernie
Conan1982, New York Virgin, FYE and Barnes & Noble stores all had stock Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but none of the stores must have had it in great quantities. The fact that they now have none means they sold out of whatever they had on hand—and that's good. The fact that you went to buy one but couldn't means lost sales—and that's bad.Bernie
Argee
Kirk, WalMart as an RCA jack switch that sells for under ten bucks and you can take one set of inputs on your receiver and plug 4 or 5 different feeds and just flip a switch to select your feed, but perhaps trying to sync the DVD and CD may be the way to go if you could keep them in sync.I am looking forward to the 5.1 sound from the dvd myself. Now if we can get them to release on BluRay at 1080p with Lossless sound....WOW! (I doubt that will ever happen!)
Margaret
Deluxe edition SOLD OUT at Newbury Comics in Salem, NH! (They had 4 on Tuesday). They still have 2 copies of the 13-song CD...
