austinberries
...for me has to be eric's final chorus of "let's pretend" - wow, they are just so peaked out at the end of that songfavorite blistering, face-melting rocker: "tonight" (also fav disappoinment that eric didn't count off "1-2-3-4!" into the mic!)favorite soaring, mini-pop opera moment of levity: transistor radio cameo in "overnight sensation" - & again, another maxxed-out ending which seems destined to spill over from the overflow of swirling musical nirvana, but takes you right to the precipice before the final, merciful release of the last chordwow! go Raspberries! music this great deserves & demands to be experienced live - hit the road again for us asap! angelina
Favorite "BOOYAH" moment.....when Jim pulls the chord on the boxing ring bell for the start of "I Don't Know What I Want".I don't remember him doing that at the NYC concert...but I easily could've missed it.....But it is featured on the DVD from the LA show.Favorite "honest ad-lib" is after "If You Change Your Mind" Dave mentions "God I love that song".JohnJohn
Raspbernie
And holding that bell in another uncredited cameo, raspberriesonline's own Jim "The Bull" Bullotta!Bernie
raspathens
Sound check when they are doing an instumental of I Can Remember. My God that was beautiful!
Argee
Favorite "honest ad-lib" is after "If You Change Your Mind" Dave mentions "God I love that song".Dave made that remark at a few shows and I really do not think it was an ad-lib because if you notice the stage light lit up on him and he made the comment.I do think the comment is heartfelt but not a spur of the moment thing. Paulie Mississippi
I really enjoy hearing the guys praising each others tunes. Nothing like "teamwork"...
Early Wynn
How about Eric holding his finger to his lips going "shhhhhh" while they waited behind the curtain while the video played. I was on the other side of the curtain and I remember the building excitement.
Leff'tHome
That WAS an awesome moment, wasn't it? (On both sides of the curtain.)
angelina
Good point Argee! It was also incredibly cool seeing the other side of the curtain. In NYC.....the boys appeared out of the darkness of a curtain-less stage. Still very cool.Another thing I REALLY liked was the word "Raspberries" up on a "stage" in the opening sequence of the DVD. Gave me goosebumps a la the word "Beatles" at the intro of their documentary a few years back.John
Jay52
"I'll be waiting at home, just call me up on the phone"...As Eric begins liftoff to the great climax of the song..."Baby, don't leave, baby don't go, oh baby, don't go"The closeup of Eric with Jim's cymbal smashing behind is a beautiful moment for me."If You Change Your Mind" is a highlight but so is every other song too.Absolute great performances throughout. Jimmy the Nick
The concert footage is incredible but for those of us that were not fortunate enough to be in Cleveland on that very special November Night, The bonus behind the scenes, curtain, sneaking up on conversations...etc.. video makes me all goose pimply. I can only imagine what the four of them were feeling when that curtain opened..watching it (three times already makes my hair stand, even in places it normally doesn't)..and is it just me, or was Eric the little nervous raspberry that night....maybe it was just his normal pre- show prep routine..smoke...drink...deep breaths...exhale...come to think of it, that was MY pre show routine before I saw them at the Atlantic City show. darlene
The guys all shaking hands behind the curtain just before it went up, Eric's "Shhh"s and his big DEEP breath when he turned around to face Jim just as the video montage was ending. "I Can Remember" how thrilled I was, with my hands behind my back holding one of Marvin's and one of Marlene's when the curtain came up and they were playing my FAVORITE song, "I Wanna Be With You," the night of the first Reunion Concert, but it was sooooooo cool to see what THEY were doing and feeling on the other side of the curtain! --Dar
susana
OMG...an instrumental of "I Can Remember"??!!! Sold to the highest bidder right there, worth the price of admission and every other cliche you can name. I may not get past anything else in the whole darned set...when it finally arrives that is.This has me shivering with...AN-TIC-I (Tommy? Say it!) - PATION!S-Girl*
stringer
The moment, before the curtain parting, brings back the memorie of when I thought, "yes, they're really going to play! Wow! It's really going to happen". That'll last forever.
Raspbernie
That first concert, just as the lights went out at the Cleveland House of Blues, I turned to Ken Sharp and said, "Ken, we're at a Raspberries concert!" What a night!Bernie
Bill C
Bernie, I felt the same way. The Intro, the curtain going up, the beginning drums to I wanna be with you. Incredible!
Trindy
Yep...I'm with you guys...the excitement of being able to see what it looked like BEHIND that curtain while I was in front of it, waiting to see if these guys could possibly ever meet all the hopes and dreams and expectations I had invested into the concept of "finally getting to go to a Raspberries concert."It's like I said when I was originally writing my Reflections piece...I keep imagining, what if someone had come to me a year earlier, with what I was going through then, and said to me "Take heart, everything's going to turn out fine. A year from now, do you know what you will be doing? You will be at a Raspberries concert!"I would have said, "Oh really? Sounds wonderful. Now, please give me some of what you are smoking, because it must be INCREDIBLE stuff. And quit bullshitting me, because I will be more likely to get through this if you are honest with me rather than feeding me a silly fantasy about something that's never going to happen."And yet...that is exactly what I was doing.Sometimes, truth is not only stranger than fiction, it's BETTER than fantasy.
