A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Anytime you want to head south for a later Thanksgiving Sadiis...you're more than welcome.

For the religious fideists among us..."God Bless You this Holiday Season because you're good".....for the Deists among us...."Kind Thoughts Were already bestowed By The Higher Order To You at the creation" for the Agnostics...."I doubt you believe in blessings" and for the Atheists......"What should I say to you when you sneeze?" " also please pass the cranberry sauce":D;)

Seriously...we ALL have things to be thankful for....let's rememeber them the other 364 days each year!

Thankful Booyahs to my ec.com family!

John

I thought his name was Albert Ladanyi, but maybe it was Alfred. My friends and I took a ballet class for a phys ed requirement while at Cleveland State in the 70's,and he was in it. I think there were only 2 guys in the class and he was one of them.Funny how reading these posts jogs my memory.I think he kind of liked one of my friends,Sharon, who sadly is no longer with us,ovarian cancer at age 44. Whew, anyway happy belated thanksgiving to everyone, I had no time yesterday, the sons and their girlfriends came to visit us for dinner.Btw,lots of pro sports players take dance classes to increase agility, one of the Steelers from the 70's comes to mind, so no digs from you guys on the board,ok?

Thanksgiving's kind of special here.. I was named after my 10th great grandfather, Stephen Hopkins, who was 1 of 102 who came across on the Mayflower. His wife was the only one to have a child enroute, Oceanus, and he was Captain Miles Standish's right hand man and instrumental in establishing relations with the natives.

I wonder if he knew my Great, Great..... Grandfather, "Pilgrim James"???

Pilgrim James  .. came over on the next ship right after the Mayflower, and was given credit for 15 of the babies born enroute from the Old World. The history books have ignored his accomplishments, but last year he finally got his due. The NBA named Pilgrim James an official Patriarch of the league!!

I was really proud..

Yes John, that wise old saying is one of my favorites, and a great debunker of myth.

As a matter of fact, another forebear of mine, "Philadelphia James", voted that it be included in the original U.S. Constitution!

Unfortunately the "Longfellow" contingent held the day, and Philadelphia James' resolution failed.

Oh well, we can't win them all..

:(
