darlene
And oh, what you do with the "standard" format!!! --D
marvin
Eric's 'middle eight' are out of this world. As for bands that deviated from the 'standard' pop song construction, one of my faves was always 10CC.
missm
Mr. Carmen - thank you so much for your response to my question and for outlining your "Standard Pop Song Construction". I did not know that the "bridge" and the "middle eight" were the same thing.
seattlesteve
I don't know why, but I suspect for some reason that "Let's Pretend" makes EC's melody Mt. Rushmore, along w/ GATW, those two given.. the other two spots, depends, I'm going to guess, Tonight, and as much as I love I Can Remember, my 4th pick is the dark horse, If You Change Your Mind, the melodic simplicity is the brillance, and the vocal performance, should be legendary..2 cents from Seattle

James
Awesome thread. I was around posting in 2009, but don´t remember this one. My sense if he truly believes "Overnight Sensation" is in his top 2, but maybe he included GATW cuz it did so much for his career, without it maybe he´d never have become bigtime. Of course I know nothing, but there are so many better songs than GATW in his catalog. My guess is he´d put "Boats Against the Current" in the top 2 if sentimentality were left out of the equation. But again I´m taking huge liberties in opining thus.

The question was what is your best Raspberries song...
