Raspbernie
Eric had some trouble posting last night so he asked me to post this for him.- - - -Well, I have bad news and good news. Which would you like first? The bad news? The Severance Hall show originally set for Oct. 6th has run into a little snag. It seems a certain female singer is looking at the possibility of playing an Arena sized venue in Cleveland on…you guessed it, Oct. 6th! This singer, let's call her Babs, has got the 6th and the 15th on hold and has been taking her good old time deciding which date to play (about three weeks and counting). I don't usually concern myself with such things but, since Babs has sold more records than the Beatles, AND she hasn't toured in many, many years, AND she is charging EXTREMELY high prices for her tickets, AND she may never tour again, I think going up against her on Oct. 6th might not be the smartest thing to do. The good news? Well, the good news is that I have every intention of finding an evening when Babs ISN'T coming to Cleveland and rescheduling the show. AND, because there's more time to put things together, there may just be a few extra little things thrown in for good measure. I apologize for keeping everyone waiting so long. We were literally one day from announcing the show when all this happened. Once again, I'll update you when there's any development. Thanks for all your support. You guys are truly the best. ec
Jeff
Maybe the real story is this "Babs" was waiting to see Erics' move, before she made hers. Well, I guess now she can breath a sigh of relief that the Eric Carmen extravaganza will move days I guess we will wait for the good news of another firm date
marlene
Thanks so much for the update. I'm SO happy the show is being rescheduled. (NOT cancelled ) It's WELL worth the wait ! (and as long as we're coming to Cleveland to see an "Eric" concert...I'm sure ANY time of the year will be just lovely !!!!) M
stringer
Good news to hear a rescheduling, looking forward to it. Just got a big job that weekend so it works, (maybe), better for my schedule. Thanks for the update, definitely worth the wait.
raspberrywine
I would like to take a moment to retract all the support I offered to Streisand in another post regarding accusations related to her bad breath and bad politics.
Tim From Wisconsin
Well... I guess I can go to the Aerosmith / Motley Crue show after all on October 7th here in Wisconsin.I look forward to any updates on "The" show!Tim

darlene
Thanks, Eric, for giving us "the inside story." We'll definitely be in attendance at your Severance Hall concert. This is going to be one grand affair! Thanks so much for letting us know. --Darlene
John P
Please reschedule for a saturday or a sunday night date. John
TOMMY TUNES
I told you on a different thread I didn't have any use for this Babs chick.
BadfingerBarb
Thanks for the update. Is there a window time frame that we are looking at (late October/early November?) I think you are mistaken, I don't believe Streisand has sold anywhere near as many records as The Beatles.
LC
Hmmm. Maybe it meant "artist" as opposed to "group"? Where's Don Krider when we need him? :-)
Eric Carmen
I thought that sounded crazy as well, but her website says the only artist who sold more records was Elvis! ec
LC
PS: Thanks for the update. Wherever and whenever the concert is, I know it'll be worth the wait.... Just seeing "Boats Against the Current" live will be an experience, to say the least....
danmichel
Babs needs to record a duet with Eric...That would help her atone for this inconvenience.
Eric Carmen
Actually, it specifically mentioned that she'd sold more records than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Anybody here subscribe to Soundscan? ec
Tony Cartmill
I think Babs has a little Pinocchio in her. You can tell she's told a few fibs...
JohnO
On Wikipedia, 14 artists/groups are listed as likely having over 250 million in LP sales, world-wide, and Babs isn't there....although she did make the list of those with greater than 100 million. On the RIAA site, which counts American sales only, Babs is a distant 8th.I just read something on her site (www.barbrastreisand.com/bio_bio.html) about her 50 gold records being more than the Beatles or Stones, but trailing Elvis...without specifically mentioning total # of records sold. LC
Babs needs to record a duet with Eric...That would help her atone for this inconvenience. "Guilty" would be just right, considering the occasion.... :-)(Actually, I'm no Streisand fan, but it would be nice to hear her tackle something like "Foolin' Myself"...) Tony Cartmill
Babs/EC duet with "She Remembered", back and forth lines in the verses. Harmonies in the chorus. "She Remembered" in the first chorus. "He Remembered" in the second?...
dianed
I am soooo disappointed I was so ready for this solo show. At least a "rescheduling" is in the process. Here comes that anticipation again. I just hope it is not rescheduled during the winter months when Cleveland is under a blanket of snow and the weather everywhere else is "ify" to travel. Can't "The Diva" find another state to give a concert?
chris hess
babs,shmabs...ugh!!lol,chris
AnniekNY
OK - I can stop politely arguing with Pete about Oct. 6th...the next day is Family Day at Kyle's college! My argument was not everybody's parents go to Family Day....Pete's argument was that we could drive back after the concert....this was all your fault, eric!!! Making me choose between your solo show and my kid but now, you have so kindly decided not to make me choose.just make sure you do this show......pretty please. Art
Blabs is probably making some appearances before the November election to promote the wacko left-wing communist candidates she supports. Eric....keep your distance from this very radical and unbalanced person. "The Way We Used To Be" is far superior to "The Way We Were". But...the real deal is that the way you are far far outshines the way she is!!!!In case there is any doubt...I cannot stand that woman! BeatleJay
Looks like I'll be able to catch the Slim Whitman concert that night. He's sold more records than The Beatles you know.
