Help! Trying To Decide Between 2 Raspberries Books

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I just came from the 'berries Myspace page, and was checking out the store...wow, so many great things to choose from, I'm in Raspberries heaven lol! I'm trying to decide between 2 of the books that are for sale, the Overnight Sensation book

by Ken Sharp, and of course Raspberries TONIGHT!

by Bernie Hogya and Ken Sharp ~ which do ya'all recommend, if you can only get one right now? wink

Love that they have most of the Raspberries LPs on CD for sale too!! Thanks so much for your thoughts everyone laugh

Get Raspberries TONIGHT right now! You've already ordered the CD/DVD set. This book will give you the inside scoop on what everyone was thinking and feeling about the reunion. When you have the set, you'll know you've got it all. You can buy Overnight Sensation at the next show (or...next payday).

For me, "Overnight Sensation" came out of the blue, at a time when I thought that NO ONE else knew about the Raspberries. I flipped when I saw it for the first time, and it continues to hold a place close to my heart. "Raspberries TONIGHT!" added to the passion.

Thanks so much everyone for your input!! smile Wow, I so badly really want to get *both*, but can only afford to choose one right now...praying that TONIGHT! stays in stock, as I think Overnight Sensation is more up my alley at this time ~ I feel like I missed out on seeing so much from the early days (though I was a TOTAL fan at the tender age of 10, lol, and stayed one throughout the years!), it would be just what the doctor ordered IMO!!

My b'day is coming up in another month or so, maybe I can convince family members to get me TONIGHT! as an early birthday present ~ that would totally rock! Thanks again everyone!!

'overnight sensation' is a great scrapbook & archival source, which of course makes it fun to spend time with; however, you may be frustrated by just that: it's scrapbook approach. i think i remember bernie (host of this site) saying somewhere that he'd love to have had more of a handle on it (w/ author ken sharp), know what he knows now, etc. re: the whole layout, look & feel, & organization of the thing. it is put together rather haphazardly & randomly, which does make it frustrating if you want the story biographically folded out in front of you w/ chronology, etc - that said, it is an amazing assembly of clippings & archived articles, pics, interviews, etc. i haven't seen 'tonight' (which i was hoping came w/ the price of the dvd set, but doesn't, as i understand it), but it sure looks nicely done & appears to show the same exceptional tlc that bernie puts forth here on the site. either way, they both help keep the raspberries flame burning!
