marvin
Thought that I'd start a new thread so people would know where to find the supper info and also register their interest:AND ANOTHER BBK SUPPER INFO UPDATEAs I've mentioned to some people, the Club is offering a supper option at their adjoining restaurant, "Lucille's" with three menu options: $48, $60 and $80/person. I've been told that people who take this offer will get into the club before the rest of the line-up when the doors open to the public at 6:00. So in effect, it is basically the same 'pass-the-line' as before except now you're not physically within the main concert Hall eating your food. The reason that the previous supper option within the Hall was cancelled was, due to the fact that the Hall will be partial seating and partial standing-room, the managment saw this as being an obstacle to serving food. "Lucille's" has room for 150 people and we have until 10 days before the show to confirm reservations. If anyone is interested, let me know (off-line) and I'll organize it AND I'll make sure that diners will DEFINITELY gain access to the HALL prior to those waiting outside. Jeff
OK, but let's keep the thread simple. Any questions, we should make in another thread. Just Name and number of people. This ill make the head count easy to go through.Jeff - 3 people
Craig Benfer
Did they happen to specify the difference between the menu options?
marvin
Craig I've got the menu options, and I'll send them to you.Marv
marvin
Before people start saying how many reservations they need, let's wait until Monday when everyone knows what show tickets they have in hand, and then they can decide about supper. We would also need to know which night (Saturday or Sunday) supper you would want.Thanks.Marvin
kazumi
Marvin, That's a good idea. Let's buy tickets first, then we will see what's going on. Thank you for your work.Kazumi
marvin
I just received this message from BBK's Club:QUOTE:Marvin in regard to the meal and being the first one into the Music Hall, there are no guarantees. I can't promise you anything, because there will probably be a lot of people thinking to do the same thing. It all depends on how things are going on the day of the show. Depending on if there are many people lined our outside or in Lucille's the managers decide who they want to let in first. For the recent Donny Osmond show, there were so many people outside that the police came and complained. We had to let those people into the hall first. Thanks,Jennifer ENDQUOTE--------------------------------------------------I've now placed a call to Jennifer's manager to see if we can find some resolution. I'll be in touch.Marvin
Sally G
Thanks, Marvin.John Lennon would probably say to BB King's management, "Gimme Some Truth"...Hang in there!Joyce

Sally G
I should add that GA at any venue is usually a pain in the a**. If these shows weren't Raspberries shows, I doubt I'd still be interested.Good Luck to everyone in snagging tix on Monday! All The Best,Joyce
smittie
Hi Marvin, Do I understand the situation correctly? No meals will be servered within the concert hall? The only dining option is to eat at Lucille's and this does not guarantee a pass the line option? So, it may not pay off at all to spend $48.50 for dinner? You may have better luck getting in line outside early with the rest of the crowd! So the best bet might be to chow down at Wendy's, save yourself mucho bucks and get in line early??!! Also, what about more ticket details? Will there be any reserved seating tickets available, any balcony, opera boxes, or something similar?? I know you don't have all the answers and I really appreciate all the time and trouble you have devoted to finding out as much info. as possible. And since you are keeping in touch with the management staff I was thinking you may be privy to more in depth ticket info. (reserved seat, vs. the general standing butts to nuts (as someone once described it in the past!) It's beginning to sound like another long night of standing!!! Thanks again Marvin for all your efforts!!
smittie
Yes Joyce, GA standing is starting to get a bit old!! If you do go, be sure to wear comfy shoes! We stood in Chicago for about 5 hours!! I would only do it for Raspberries. I wish there were better seating options!
marvin
I'm just on my way home, but when I get home I'll post some further info. Suffice to say that $48.50 or $80 a meal does not guarantee you anything except a hole in your wallet.Marvin
Brian Mac
Isn't it amazing that no-one at BBK has the good business sense to call a meeting and make a decision which could make the difference between their restaurant being full or empty on the two nights Raspberries play? They are dealing with the official Raspberries Website and ERICCARMEN.COM here. You'd think somebody at BBK's would grow a brain. Smell the coffee. Experience a moment of clarity. Do the right thing. I see this kind of thing over and over in corporate America. And then people wonder why their jobs are being "outsourced."
marvin
I had a very pleasant albeit frustrating conversation with the Banquet Manager of BBK this afternoon. The miscommunication has been flying back and forth and I apolgize for the inaccuracies. After our call, I sent her a message with the details as I understand them, and have asked her to confirm. Hopefully I'll get a reply back in a day or so, otherwise I'll call her back. In the meantime, unless things change again, this is what I was told - Entry into the Music Hall will be on a first-come / first serve basis. This will decided as follows:1. As soon as a line-up begins to form outside the club (for Donny Osmond apparently the line-up began at 8:00am), the security will issue numbers which will designate your place in the line. The first person in line gets #1 and so on..2. You may leave the line once you get your number, and show up later - as long as you are back at the club by 3:00ish.3. Once you are back at the club, you can dine at Lucille's or hang around outside if you wish. But you have to be at one or the other. Make sure that you have your assigned number with you.4. At 6:00 once the doors are opened, people will be allowed into the Music Hall in numerical order. So whether you're in Lucille's or outside, it won't matter. It's all dependent on your number.I've been told that the security is not going to go up and down the rows of people looking for your number. If your number is called and you're not there, they'll move on to the next number. As I mentioned earlier, for the Donny Osmond show, the crowd on 42nd street got so large that the police was called and so those people were ushered in first. I guess passer-byers could only take so much of a throng of people singing "Puppy Love"!It is entirely possible that there could be a large crowd outside the club for the 'berries show so then so much for the number system.I asked why couldn't they have a 'pass the line'where diners got first admittance into the club, but was told that although they do have such a policy for certain concerts where the eating actually takes place in the Music Hall, the 'berries concert is a partial SRO/seating concert therefore it is not codusive to that set-up. Stay tuned for further developments and good luck to everyone on Monday.Marvin
Brian Mac
So here it is 48 hours before the tickets go on sale, and nobody knows how to purchase the reserved seats? That would be a handy litte piece of information. Any chance you could find out for us Marv?
BadfingerBarb
There are no reserved seats. It's first come, first served.
marvin
Exactly. There are no *reserved* seats. Not sure how many seats will be in the Hall, but supposing they set up 150 seats, then the first 150 people into the Hall get those seats (if they choose to sit). The Manager did say to me that the better viewing would be from the standing area as opposed to the seating area.Marvin
Brian Mac
Thanks for the info Marv & Barb. Are you positive that the people who buy the $150 VIP tickets don't get the seats? Cause frankly after spending Sunday afternoon at WAB3, I may be having a little trouble standing:)
marvin
Brian the $150 VIP tickets are another story which I haven't pursued. If you check the website, it reads that the ticket is a GA ticket. Doesn't say anything about a guaranteed seat.Marvin
darlene
This is a bit too involved for me. I'm just happy to be getting tickets, and be part of these momentous evenings. If dinner at Lucille's guarantees nothing, dinner reservations are a moot point. I'll leave the dinner scene to the "banquet moguls." --Darlene
Jeff
I will check ou the club next week. If there is an ability to physically be able to get into the club from Lucille's, I believe I should get a table for dinner for a select few of us, and I can say with reasonable confidence, we will be able to get in. I will look at the possibilities in 10 days or so when I am in the City. Now, enough worrying about this, let's get back to talking about the music, other tidbits, and the upcoming new site upgrade !!! marvin
You show enough interest and someone's got to listen:I just got off the phone with BBK, and they said that they are in the process of re-working their supper policy. Due to the fact that it is only March, they cannot say what will be in place in July. For the most part you can expect that the 'first-come-first-serve number system' policy will stick - but they are going to examine the Lucille's / supper 'pass the line' option.More to come probably in the next few weeks or so.Marvin
mannoman
Marvin/Jeff - between the two of you I feel confident you will "whisper the love of God" in the ear of the BBK Mgr. That's the way my Irish grand mother would phrase it. The Italian side of my family would "make you an offer you can't refuse." Same thing.
