A NEW Eric Carmen Song!

Recommended Posts

Speaking of marketing genius, as Michelle brought up, even the name of the song fits for a career resurrection! Never Say Die! The incredible story of a lost song with a great name and a great sound, with an incredible book on top of that could equal CAREER RESURRECTION! Take that momentum and build on it!

Let's also hear it for Paul Carbonara who's playing waaaay more than his share of those tasty licks! By the way, in case you haven't noticed, there's guitars all the heck over the placeÖand Eric's voice sounds MIGHTY GOOD surrounded by 'em if you ask me.

Bernie

PS: Paul is in Blondie. (Yep. That Blondie.)

That's what I'm talkin' about! Way to go, everyone on the credits for making this happen! The production is just old enough to remind one of the Raspberries power pop heyday and just new enough to evoke the 90's power pop sound. Of course, Eric's writing and voice are the timeless bridge that spans the years. Big thanks to all (and you can forget about tuning your radio Sunday night) happy Kirk.

Ok I'm going nuts reading everyone's comments. This work day can't end quick enough so that I can go home and listen to the song! So is this a message to Eric that if he wants to get new music out, he's got to put it in the hands of Bernie and other fans???

Crikey-mojos Bernie!! I don't know where to start! What a FANTASTIC track!! This is one heck of a gem!! My head was nodding and my body was rockin' before I knew what was happening! I love everything about it, it's GREAT! Thank you, thank you! Also, thank you for the wonderful surprise photo of Eric! Never Say Die? I think I've died and gone to Heaven!!

Stop it everone! So judging by everyone's comments so far, this is another old song (13 years old) that Eric was letting rust away instead of putting it out on "WD." Bernie why don't you and your gang take all those other unreleased songs and bring them back to life? If Eric gave you the blessing for one track, maybe you can twist his arm about all the others that are gathering dust.

Needless to say, we ALL had a great time! But once again, kudos to Tommy Allen who from the beginning said he wasn't interested in just doing this as a lark. Tommy's a professional musician and his end game was to make something that, as he put it, sounded like a record. I think he succeeded.

Bernie

PS: I'll post some specific comments Eric made after he heard the final mix tomorrow. Until then, keep the comments coming. I'm less interested in getting my hands on more of Eric's songs and more interested in him finding the inspiration to dust some off himself :-)

So are EC fans hard-up for new music or what? There have been more posts on "Never Say Die" in a short span than on any other topic in recent memory - and some of us haven't even heard the song yet!

Bernie how old (new) is that picture of Eric?

" NEVER SAY DIE"

I listened to that great song, I love it.

I can relate to that song.

Or you can either look at IT, bothways.

Someone that you really love and never give up.

2) Something that you really like to work at, and make it work for you.

All my life I wanted to do something in the field of cartooning, I struggled at it for years.

I was going to give up.

I pushed and pushed and really decided to call it quits.

I made now, my reality a dream come true, whether it be for a woman or something that you or I really like.

Now, I'm in the process of distributing my children's book on Interactive CD.

Never Say Die, you know Eric, your absolutely right.

I love your song.

The most happiest thing in the world that could

happen to me, besides Eric and Bernie that is.

Don't worry Bernie and Eric, I still love ya!

LOL

Thankx to all that were involved with getting this song out. I can't believe that this song has been in a box. That would have been a great song to add to the "I was born to love you" CD.

Cleveland does'nt rock, Bernie does.

It's ironic... A song called "Never say die" is lost for years and then comes back because the tape didn't want to die.

There's definitely a story in this. If it came out of Hollywood nobody would believe it! This discarded tape somehow finds it's way from magnetic particles gumming up a reel of acetate tape to new life on the internet and its title is "Never Say Die!" Amazing. It's the song that wouldn't die. Just weeks before a major book on Eric's life is published which heralds him as a "Marathon Man" running the long race that is still far from over. "Never Say Die." Amazing.
