darlene
I'm sitting here listening to Eric's duets withJaney Clewer (Only Time Will Tell), Louise Mandrell (As Long As We've Got Each Other) and Merry Clayton (Almost Paradise). These are all great songs, and the ladies obviously enjoyed doing their duets with Eric. Merry Clayton can really wail with him!!!! Any thoughts on other females who should do a duet with Eric? JuliaD
yeah, me! Oh, wait, did you mean duet as in singing ? Nevermind, then... (I loooooooooooove Eric with Merry Clayton, actually)
Matthew C. Clark
I think Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk would do a great duet with him. How the hell you spell or say Kreviazuk? Matt
Kirk
I'm not sure Matt, but I think you just scored 48 points in scrabble! Kirk.
MAM
I'm thinking Amy Grant or Ann Wilson would do a good job on a duet with Eric.
Guest
To get back in the driver seat and get his career going he needs to do something with an up and coming or current artist.MTV or CMT is crucial to becoming relevant today.Look what it did for I" Lost My Heart in San Fran"guy.Brainfreeze currently and can't pull his name if I wanted to.So I think someone like Faith,Shania,Avril,Gwen, and although not currently busting the charts Chrissy Hynde would be cool. JuliaD
Chrissy Hynde? I'd rather see Eric stop singing altogether than do a duet with her
marvin
Kreviazuk is pronounced: CRAY VEE AHH ZUCK.Chantal is quite popular in Canada. Matt it amazes me how much you know about Canadian music.MARVIN
Billy
I always though Sarah McLauglin would be a good duet partner for Eric. I always liked Eric/Mandrell version of "As Long as We Got Each Other".....I think that was done in the 1988-89 time frame when Make Me Lose Control was hot ---too bad they couldn't have put that out as a single back then. Matthew C. Clark
Chantal Kreviazuk had a song called "God Made Me" which almost sounds like The Verve Pipe's "Photograph" from the CD "Villains" on RCA back in 1996. The Verve Pipe are from East Lansing, Michigan. Another soundalike is the group called Lit which had a song from 1998 or 1999 called "My Own Worst Enemy" from the CD "A Place In The Sun" on RCA which at the beginning of the song, it reminds me of the Stampeders song "Wild Eyes" from 1972. Craig Benfer
A duet with Michelle Branch would help Eric get back in the spotlight. There styles are also similar.
Betsey
I agree with MAM. Ann Wilson and Eric would be spectacular! Don't know about Amy Grant, though. I like her, but, with Eric? Not sure about that.
GaryS
**yawn** Ann Wilson... Been done. How about Diana Krall...Tony Bennett is the name you were looking for earlier.
Kristina
Stevie Nicks is my first choice...can you imagine a remake of "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" with Eric instead of Tom Petty. Michelle Branch, Diana Krall, are good choices too. What about Carly Simon or Carole KIng-that would be interesting songwriting...
GaryS
Aimee Mann would give him the credibility with the new "hipsters".
darlene
These are such interesting ideas. Diana Krall, Michelle Branch, Aimee Mann.I hope he's reading and thinking about who he would like to sing with.... --Darlene
seattlesteve
Eric's unreleased song, "Hearts on Fire" would have been a great Stevie Nicks vehicle which it was intended to be. Perhaps a duet wih her is in order.
marvin
Actually as strange as it may sound, Aimee Mann is not such a far-fetched idea because her husband (Michael Penn) is a fan of the 'berries. If you haven't already, check out Michael's cd's for some very fine Pop music.MARVIN
Billy
Aimee Mann is a great choice! That is one I didn't think of....I like it.
