Les R.
OK it's time to puff up Eric's ego, probably more than a little bit. Until recently I never tried to nail down exactly who my 2nd favorite vocalist was (male or otherwise). For over 30 years Eric has always been my #1 & that was that. But here's what I came up with:#2 - Elton John; #3 - Manilow; #4 - McCartney. So what are yours??
TOMMY TUNES
Frank Sinatra, Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen (If we are counting Lead Singers from groups than add Freddie Mercury/ Queen)

hollies65
Those first three would make my top twenty five. I'd put George Jones as my favorite country singer.

hollies65
Petty? Really? I really like Tom Petty...What do you like about his singing? I know all of this is subjective...I'm just curious...because I see what you like about your other picks.

pretender
It's kind of hard to describe, but I'd say it's mostly attitude I like about Petty. He's got a cockiness that comes across in most of his work, yet he can still sound really vulnerable on some of his slower tunes(Insider,Free Fallin')
hollies65
I'd place Dylan in my alltime top 50 vocalist...maybe top thirty. You'd have a hard time finding anyone else putting him that high.fI loved his singing right up into the mid 70s...and even a song or two here and there, to this day! TOMMY TUNES
I'd love to but I can't watch the video from here. As I recall Bono, possibly Elvis Costello? Sting. Hard to get any better than those 3 voices.
