gordharris
It's weird, because I have never heard of a Raspberries Fan club, the only thing that was of interest to me , was the songs and albums.Huh, now isn't that somethingCan I join still? And if not, why isn't their a ERIC CARMEN FAN CLUB/ The Raspberrie Fan club anymore?Their should be one. marvin
So how did Kirk and Marlene find out about the Fan Club? I joined through a notice in Hit Parader magazine. Nice to see others have kept their packages and I'm not alone in my fandom.Sorry Gord but the Club has been dead for years. The only fan club that exists is right here, right now!Marvin
darlene
Sad to say, I didn't know about the Raspberries Fan Club. When it started, I probably didn't even know about the Raspberries! I would LOVE to see an old Fan Club packet. Bring them!!! Talk about the old days. Seeing something like that would be interesting. I have since heard about a contest in which fans wrote in who was the cutest Raspberry and why...somebody won a volkswagen or a Raspberry-mobile or something. What was THAT all about? Did Marlene (or MARVIN!) ever enter that contest? And, Bernie, who won the car? --Darlene
Kirk
Marvin--I was in and out of Capitol records during the Raspberries heyday and might have got the info on the fan club from there. Darlene--I think Patrick Beckers used my whole fan club kit in his second book if you have access to it. I think Bernie has a copy of it. Kirk. Tom
I recall seeing some literature about the fan club at a 'Berries concert in Providence RI back in '73.
marlene
Ya know what ? I think my memory is fading. I can't really remember where i got the information about joining the fan club. All i really remember is waiting and waiting for my "Kit" to come. It had these really "Cool" individual questionairres that each band member answered, "what is your favorite place to visit?", "what's your favorite food?" that kind of thing. I was SO infatuated with Eric then.... (i guess all of my little girlfriends were, too...) I can't wait to see Marvin's packet this weekend. I'm sure I've forgotten lots about it...M. marvin
Yes Michael you are right, however, my wife had very little interest in music before she met me. So she knew of no one who had my kind of fanatacism. All my friends were musicians. All hers had other interests.Marvin

darlene
Marvin brought his original Raspberries Fan Club Packet to the party. It was an amazing little kit. I had never seen one. There was an info sheet on each of the Razz guys. Even their WAIST size in inches! Their fave colors and foods...my oh my. Thanks, Marvin, for bringing this great piece of nostalgia with you. It was really fun to look at! Now I can say I've seen one. --Darlene

Randy
Yeh, the Raspberries Fan Club. It's funny you mention it Marvin. I have sitting next to me a folder, with a Raspberry on the front and a picture of the 4 on the back. The address was POBox 22192Cleveland, Ohio 44122I have a 3 page type written letter talking about the band from 1971 through Side 3. I have a profile sheet of all 4 guys. It tells, nickname, height and weight, waist, marital status, favorite color, food, drink, etc.. It's kid of funny now.David Smalley's favorite tv show was I Dream of Jeannie.Wally's favorite actor was Ringo Starr! what? Eric weighed 125 pounds...Jim's nickname was Banshee.I also have a Cashbox, Billboard and Record world reviews of Side 3. There is also a concert review of the berries at Carnegie Hall.Kathy Koral was president.I also have an article, that I must of come across later on Eric Carmen in a magazine called "Rock N Roll Spectacular." It's 6 pages long. Anyone have the article or familiar with it?
