Baby Sister
While listening to WDOK 102.4 this morning they made an announcement regarding the Scene Pavillion show. It was announced as Eric Carmen and the Raspberries July 15. I tried to call the station to correct them but couldn't get through. Maybe someone with more clout can get through. I also posted this on the berries website.
Gene
I wouldn't mind... if they'd name ALL the Rapsberries. It's like John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Let folks know it's ALL the guys. Not like Bill Pinkney and the Not Really Original Drifters. Or the Beach Boys with one name we recognize.Eric's name is a draw... but so is the fact the original four are back together. Tiggsherby
I think it's important that they mention Eric by name! Let's face it, there are a lot of groups out there touring using the "band name" but not the original lead singer. For those who don't participate in "on-line message boards", how else could they be sure, before they bought a ticket? Not to offend, but I would of been pretty disappointed if I would have bought a ticket a few years ago only to see Scott, Wally and Dave as the "Raspberries"! While we're at it, why not a list of major bands that changed lead singers while they were "hot" (Chicago, Jefferson Starship and Van Halen) and bands that may have been past their glory but toured with a different lead singer (I know there are many). Trindy
Harry, while I see your point, I do not think Eric's name should be the ONLY one mentioned. I think they should mention all four guys...just like they do in the print ads. And, have you noticed that in the print ads, they don't even put Eric's name first? I don't think that's an accident either.Yes, it's important for people to know this band has Eric in it...but it's equally important for them to know it has Wally, Dave and Jim in it. darlene
It sounds like the typical mistake an unenlightened (or one unfamiliar with the group) deejay would make. It would be good for some of us to call until someone gets through. --Darlene
