Gene
I have eaten at most all of these in the last year and they are grand! Some of them aren't cheap, but they are good! Some may require a call ahead. Almost all of them are close to the HOB. If it is too cold... a $5.00 cab ride will have you there in a couple of minutes. popdude
OK, I'm not even able to go to the show (dammit!), but now I'm hungry! :-)
Jeff
Well, how about we end up organiizing ONE place we can all meet for dinner, way before the show, so no rush, and reserve a big table? Bernie included, if he can. And certainly, any 'berries would be welcome!
smittie
Great idea, Jeff! I'll be looking for a dinner location and would love to meet up with others from the board. How about somewhere close to the HOB?
Laura
I already made reservations at the HOB for dinner that night.
Jeff
Can we reserve for, say 15-20? Can you find out, Laura? Or maybe there is a private room we could take? A pre-show party that WE put together!
Laura
I can call them and see. The only reason I knew to make reservations was there was a link when I bought my tickets to make reservations so that you could "cut the line" and not wait in the cold to get into the concert. I may be in the opera box, so it is less of an issue. They said in an email that there was a private party at 5:30 and that the earliest reservation was for 6:00pm. They haven't let me know, my reservation was for 6:30pm originally. I think doors open at 7:00pm but I could be wrong.
Jeff
I had asked in another thread, is it possible to buy into the Opera box? I haven't bought a ticket yet, hoping to get into this Opera Box.Anyway, see if we can get a table/room, etc..
Laura
Jeff-You will have to email the guy that has the box. His name is Stevie-member number 145. Send him a private message through the member directory. That's how I got a hold of him.
smittie
Hi, My sister and I are staying at the HOB hotel and need a recommendation for breakfast on Sunday morning within walking distance of the hotel, right next door to HOB. Has anyone ever done the HOB's Gospel Brunch? How was the food? Thanks for your suggesions! Julie R.
marvin
Jeff I was under the impression that you had reserved a table for supper pre-show at the HoB?Marvin

Linda
My girlfriend's ex-husband is part owner of the Chop House & they do have excellent steaks!! Of course, you can't go wrong with pizza here in Chgo. either!!
sterling
Linda,I am trying to get a dinner reservation for my daughter and myself. It needs to be somewhere around the HOB. Could you give me the names of 5 or 6 places I could call? I tried to get reservations at HOB but waited too long and they have no openings Sat. night.Phil
Linda
Phil, I live in the south suburbs & don't really go into downtown Chgo. much. We go to places on the south side, so I can't really recommend any one place. I even had to look up on-line the best way to get to the HOB, when my girlfriend & I go next Sat. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. You could try Gene's choices. Places do get crowded on Sat. You would probably have to go earlier, maybe by 4.Linda
