Hey, Let's Pretend...

Recommended Posts

Just this morning on my drive to work I was thinking about this very topic. I was trying to imagine Eric singing, "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. I'm trying to sing it in my head, and I just can't remember all the words, so my apologies if it's strickly a "chick-song".

I'd also like to hear him do the Beatles "Yesterday" and Paul Davis' "I Go Crazy".

I readily concur with the Bad English song. It would be soooooo good!

--oh, and how about "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner?

Back in 1970, before the Raspberries hit the charts, they would play in our town about once a month. It seems I remember Eric doing Long Tall Sally. It was as wonderful as you would expect it to be. I'm pretty sure he also did Maybe I'm Amazed. It was awesome. Wally did fantastic versions of Gimme Shelter & Brown Sugar. Oh yeah, those were the days my friend!

Hey, Kirk and Julie--keep this tight pants thing up and you will get BESIEGED by a stampede of ladies demanding Eric to do a live concert NOWWWW!

Julia from London will fly over to Cleveland in a

NEW YORK MINUTE!!!! (And I'll be on the flight out of New York!) Singlehandedly, the ladies of "the Board" could boost the airline industry.

What a great thought--and what a great song. I'd LOVE to hear Eric sing it!

Well, Bernie--how about an MP3?! --Darlene

I've always dreamed of Eric doing Badfinger's 'Day After Day'. Only in this version he'd turn the piano parts into long sweeping explorations of the keyboard kind. The entire song would rival 'ABM' and 'Runaway' for its length, beauty and emotion. But please, Eric, if you ever do a version of this song live, no matter what my Cranbury neighbor says, please leave the tight leather pants at home. Luv ya man! Dave

I would like to see Eric do the remake of "Coming Home" by Canadian singer-songwriter Ian Thomas that was a big hit down there back in 1978. Though Atlantic Records released it back in 1978 or 1979, it did not chart the Billboard Hot 100 or Bubbled Under The Hot 100. Ian also wrote & sang the song "Hold On" in 1981 that was a big top 20 hit for Santana back in 1982. He also wrote "Right Before Your Eyes" & was a hit for the group America back that same year in the Summer of 1982, the follow up to "You Can Do Magic". That is all that I can think of. Matt

How about this one -- "Falling In Love Again". This was originally done by the Michael Stanley Band, Cleveland's other rock and roll God. If you haven't heard of him, then you truly missed something magnificent. And I think it would be super cool for Eric and Michael to do some song together. What could be cooler than both of them singing "My Town" or "That's Rock and Roll"?
