aggiesjc
I don't know if Eric enjoys singing duets or even the concept of duets, but Almost Paradise is lovely, so he has done a nice one! Just curious -- Whose voice do you think would complement his nicely? Which song (his or otherwise) would work well? I can think of several female singers that I like, including LeAnn Rimes, but I don't necessarily think they'd be good in a duet.
Ron Sutton
I thought Eric did a good job on his duet with Lousie Mandrell a few years ago. They sounded really good together. I'd like to hear him with Sheryl Crow or Jewel maybe. And both of them did record All By Myself.Ron
Julie
Hmmmmm. What about Babs? Or Bonnie Raitt?--Julie
Foolin' Myself
Ann Wilson of Heart and Mike Reno of Loveryboy did "Almost Paradise" in the 80's and Ann sounded excellent. I think Ann would be good to do that song with EC.Whitney Houston has a beautiful voice as well as Barbara Streisand.I know all these singers are old school but, not alot of the new singers really catch my ear. :p
darlene
Don't know very much about her, except that she, too, was classically trained, but I'd like to hear Janey Clewer do something else with Eric. I think she definitely picks up on what Eric does when she sings with him and "stylizes" the song like he does. Mmmm, VERY nice. --Darlene
marvin
As far as female vocalists go, Sheryl Crow would be my choice of a duet partner, but I'd like to see Eric sing with a male who could bring out his rockier side. Any suggestions?Marvin
Kirk
That last response got me thinking...Eric should do a duet with himself. He could call the song, "All By Ourselves" Really, though, if he found a suitable female I think her voice should be very pure, not much if any tremelo to compliment his slightly gruffer sound these days. Julie
Pure. How about Faith Hill? I'm not really into country but I do think she has a beautifulclean sound.
aggiesjc
Yes, Julie, I agree about Faith Hill. I think it would need to be someone who sounds feminine. Faith has a strong voice, but still sounds feminine.
hbecstacy
I second Marvin's assertion that Eric should rock out in a duet with a male singer...a gritty "Lennon" to contrast his "McCartney"...howabout, uh, Scott McCarl? That Todd Rundgren guy? I hear they actually like each other...Jack Bruce, his pal from the Ringo days, recent events notwithstanding...Steven Tyler? Lenny Kravitz? Billy
I'd like to see Eric do a duet with Sarah McLachlan.
JuliaD
Hey, Marvin, how about Billy Squire? Steve Perry? Sammy Hagar? I'd suggest Michael Hutchence, but well... he's no longer with us
JuliaD
Actually, I really liked Almost Paradise done with Merry Clayton in the DD tour, she was excellent.
darlene
Oh yeah -- Merry Clayton and Eric really know how to wail together very well. I really enjoyed them together. Well, he has a lot of possibilities to think about! --Darlene
marvin
Eric's male duet partners? I'd go for Scott McCarl. Speaking of Scott, anyone have any idea whether he will have any new material available? I know Dave Smalley is working on stuff that he hopes to release soon.Marv
LostControl
It doesn't matter who gets to sing with Eric; I just know I'd be jealous!Michelle
Guest
To be relevant in today's music it would be a good career move to find someone who gets alot of MTV play. Gwen, Pink, The Coors would be really interesting. Look what MTV did for Tony Bennett. Most people watching MTV are teens which means they probably don't even know who EC is. Matthew C. Clark
Well, Kurt Loder of MTV talked to the Red Hot Chill Peppers & introduced Tony Bennett back at the 1993 Video Music Awards & annouced an award & Tony would go "Give It Away, Give It Away, Now..." & look what happened, Tony made a comeback back then. Andrea Corr of The Corrs could be a possibility. She sang with Bono of U2 & did a great remake of the Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood song "Summer Wine" on The Coors "Live In Dublin" CD. sam
Here is my 2 cents, Everytime I hear "Come To My Window" I say, "Wow, Id love to hear Eric sing this one or sing it with Melissa Etheridge." Sam
