  1. Hi Bernie Is the demo version you referred to on here somewhere also? Cheers. "...I probably prefer the earlier demo without the backing instruments..."
  2. I always thought 'Out of the Cradle' was his best album. Still sounds amazing. Was ignored by the critics when it came out. Without his drive to get them to make new music, FM are just another lame nostalgia cash in. I have to say that Neil Finn does nothing for me and I'm actually from the same country as he is...Hopefully Lindsay didn't suffer any damage to his vocals from the operation, which is what they were worried about I think...
  3. Yes! That would be fantastic...There's something about just a voice and a piano that can take a song to a different place. I always thought the best Springsteen tour (that I heard some music from) was the Devil's & Dust tour where he reconfigured a lot of old tracks on the piano.
  4. Hi. Can someone post the name of this track? Thanks.
  5. Almost Paradise (Piano demo) Never gonna fall in love again (Piano demo) Foolin myself (Piano demo) She remembered (Piano demo) Hey EC fans Looking for these piano demos which I think were around at some point on this site. Hopefully someone who has been around for a while has them? Drop me a PM if you can send any my way. There's something pure about a Piano demo I think. Often a raw demo has that something special that tends to get lost with a subsequent studio re-recording, or tinkering & overdubbing. Feel free to let me know your favourite piano ballad, can be from Eric or anyone else. Always up for finding some new music or artists. Cheers!
  6. Thanks to everyone who replied. Nice to meet you all! Have been off sick for a while so have been a bit tired, but have an idea for a thread I might work on once I check no one has done anything similar. Cheers.
  7. Hi. Newbie here. Am from far away in NZ. Always been a power pop fan. Not sure which came first, Big Star or the Raspberries (or maybe backwards from Teenage Fanclub/The Posies). From the Raspberries it was onto EC solo albums, which I think I prefer more. Some people seem to like his 'rockers' more than his 'ballads' and therefore don't like his solo stuff as much, or certain albums within it that are more ballad heavy. What can I say am a suckker for a goood old 80s power ballad, as I grew up in that era and still know all the words to a bunch a terrible songs that I would never admit to. Always liked ECs way with a ballad even the sappy ones everyone thinks are lame and should have been left off the albums. Something about his voice and those swelling strings, the sophistiction of the melodies, the chords and key changes. I think he is unparalleled in that area which, other than Kyle Vincent, seems a bit of a lost art these days. Managed to pick up the Japanese issues of some of solo albums a while back with some unreleased tracks on them. Found my way here after finding this post of google: http://ericcarmen.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11210-eric-carmen-rare-and-unreleased-cd/ Not sure how this place works? Have found a couple of MP3s embedded into posts, but there doesnt seem to be a place for multimedia stuff (though I think there was at some point?) If anyone is up for passing on some tracks to a newbie I'd be forever in your debt. If you guys dont do that kind of thing no worries & cheers from down under.
