  1. Bernie: Just saw the Hugh Jackman ad. What was the shoot like? Allen
  2. The words "cool" and "Canadian fashions" don't belong in the same sentence. And isn't "Canadian fashion" an oxymoron?

  5. Ira: Didn't realize we had so much in common. I have a PT Cruiser also. Mine is detailed to look like an Old Woody station wagon. I have 2 dogs: Kasey and Tramp, both Keeshonds. Great dogs, great companions and absolutely give unconditional love.
  6. Ira: If you're going to the FOW show, let me know. I'll be glad to meet up with you and buy you a cold one.
  7. The ending reminded me of the last episode of St Elsewhere.
  8. Just found out that Fountains of Wayne are appearing at the Sellersville Theater (a 300 seat venue) on July 3rd. Great place to see anyone and definitely one of the smallest places this band will play. So if you're a fan and in the area, grab a ticket.
  9. Love the Stacks O Tracks album
  10. Outlaw Pete, My Lucky Day, Working On A Dream translated really well to the stage. Outlaw Pete especially sounds almost majestic live. Good Eye should probably be dropped from the set. Springsteen sings it with a bullet mic and it sounds like a jumbled mess. The Wrestler has a very spare arrangement with Bruce on acoustic guitar with some keyboard coloring. All in all an amazing night of Boss music. Hope you get the opportunity to see a show.
  11. Marv, as promised, here's the info bout last night's show. Outlaw Pete My Lucky Day Night Out in the Street Working on a Dream Johnny 99 I Ain't Got No Home Good Eye (with Jay Weinberg on drums) Radio Nowhere (w/ J.W.) Candy's Room (w/ J.W.) Because the Night (w/ J.W.) Mary's Place (w/ J.W.) The Wrestler This Life Long Walk Home Surprise, Surprise Badlands No Surrender Encores Hard Times (Stephen Foster song) Mustang Sally (w/ John Eddie) Thunder Road Born to Run (w/ J.W.) American Land (w/ J.W.) Seven Nights to Rock The highlight for me was the version of the new song "This Life". The Beach Boys style harmonies on this one sound amazing live. Show ran 2 1/2 - 3 hours. If this is any indication, the tour should be one for the books.
  12. I know there are a few Hollies fans on the board. When I was in college, I was the Arts Editor of the newspaper. Allan Clarke was releasing his 1st solo album and Atlantic Records invited a group of college journalists for a listening party/meet n greet at their offices in NYC. They provided us with canned questions and recorded our interviews with Allan to be distributed to radio stations as promo for the lp. He was a very nice gentleman who, as I remember, was a huge Springsteen fan. He touted Bruce as one of the best writers of the time. He also liked the punk movement that was prevalent at the time. It was a long time ago, but is still a great memory.
